Trailer wiring....dealer needs to activate

So first time post, apologize if I missed this info on a different thread.

I purchased my Mohave and it came with the wiring harness plug, but no hitch. I installed a hitch and just installed the Diode Dynamics back up hitch light and plug was dead.

Called the dealer, was quoted 169.00 dollars for an hour of "programming" to turn it on. Anyone have any experience with this?

Check the plugs and wiring behind the bumper, and all the fuses. There should be no programming needed to activate anything towing related. Be aware that your towing capacity is limited since it did not come equipped with the Factory Tow Package.
