Hey gang, I need some advice. I have a 2022 Gladiator Sport Max Tow with 32,000 miles on it. It’s my daily driver, has never been off-road or trail driven, the only mud it sees is when turning around behind the house! I do tow with it once a month, but honestly it’s a very easily driven DD.
4 days ago I was driving down the road and heard/felt a snapping noise under the truck and immediately the traction control light came on and a warning on the dash to service the traction control. I drove it very easily to my brothers warehouse where we used a code scanner to see what was stored. It was a P0979 code, Shift solenoid “C”. I was able to clear it and drive the car home and it ran fine until yesterday. I drove up the driveway, pulled away from the stop sign and when heading down the road, it did the same thing. Heard/felt a bump/snapping noise and the same lights on the dash. I had my code scanner in the truck and again was able to clear it.
Fast forward to this evening. I was headed to the store, driving up the road at 45mph and the Jeep started to feel like the transmission was slipping. There was a loss of power, lots of warning lights and a long message on the dash. I made it to a local store parking lot where I tried to put it in park , but it just went into a “neutral” and all the lights on the shifter were illuminated yellow. It wouldn’t go into any gear, the shifter wouldn’t move. I shut it off and it would not restart. It wouldn’t do anything! I had to put the emergency brake on in order to keep the truck in one place since the trans wouldn’t go into park. Since I was going shopping at that store any way, I returned to the truck 20 minutes later, plugged in the scan tool and tried to read and clear the codes.
This time it was code U0101(Lost communication with Transmission Control Module). Then on the dash it had the following message.
I have a service appointment on 1-2-24 to have it looked at. I drove to the dealership this morning to make the appt based on just those first 2 episodes and then had this BIG one tonite.
Anybody have any similar situation? Any insight on what might be going on is greatly appreciated.
