I am going to need to trim some fender liner. For those that have had rubs at the bottom of the liner as shown in the picture, how much did you take off and what tool seemed to work best without it being a total hack job?

A nice sharp utility knife.

Trim some, check, trim again as needed. Rise and repeat until happy.

I used a Dewalt Zip saw, but as @Minty JL said, a good sharp utility knife would have done the job.

I bought a pair of Milwaukee scissors (which I love) but a dremel with cutoff wheel is much better. The liner material is robust.

On other vehicles that I have trimmed, I have found the easiest to be sheetmetal shears. For the Gladiator , have found a zip tie works fine for that area.

Did you trim off that much or just push it back and tie wrap it? Looks good.

I haven’t trimmed the fender liners, just drilled a hole and zip tied. I’m waiting for my shocks to come in, once I get those I’ll pull the springs to set the bump stops for full cross droop/stuff and verify clearances and trim/zip tie more if needed. Right now I don’t have any fender rubbing with moderate full lock flexing (on slope transitions on my property) as the tire hits the control arm first, added a washer to the steering stop to fix that. I’m running 37s with wheels with less than ideal backspacing (4.75”) for clearances on the frame side of the inner fender and frame/suspension…but I’m optimistic.

Whatever pocket knife I'm carrying on the trail when I get any rubbing has worked fine in both JLs and the JT. You guys don't trim your fender liners on poison spider?

Dreamily took cut only a little bit at a time till you get the clearance you need and no more there is a heat shield on the front left near the battery
