Sole owner of the vehicle since 2021.

One day recently the screen started to look like a green matrix glitch. It was stagnate like that for a while until yesterday it went crazy flashing white and black bars and eventually just kind of died, maybe sometimes flashes white bars but it provides no real graphic input.

If I had to guess it would maybe be due to humidity since my top has been off for most of the summer. But there was no event to make this happen such as screen trauma or the tech getting directly wet from rain or splash.

Anyone had an issue like this before? I have an appointment with the Jeep dealership in 2 weeks but if theres a cheaper alternative or if anyone has experience with a similar issue that was able to resolve let me know. Worried itll be over $1,000 to deal with this issue that just kind of popped up on its own

From the Wrangler Forums:

If your Jeep is equipped with the Uconnect 4 system and you're trying to perform a soft reset you can try these steps:

1. Put your vehicle into the accessories mode (ACC or RUN) **For keyless start (push-button) vehicles: push the start button twice without having your foot on the gas or brake pedal
2. Hold down the Phone and voice recognition buttons (or tuner and volume knob), at the same time, for thirty seconds.
3. Let go of the buttons
4. Turn the vehicle off
5. Open driver’s side door for thirty seconds (or until dash illumination goes black)
6. Close door
7. Restart vehicle
8. Let the media center load up and see if the concern is still present .

Others also mentioned having to unplug the camera and plugging it back in (possibly loose connection).

Thanks ChecksOut! Just had an odd occurrence where the "soft buttons" on the screen were all greyed out and a couple other issues. The manual only indicates doing your step #2. Did this a few times and it still glitched. Did the rest of the steps you found and it's back to working!

That's great. Glad you got it working. A lot of good info on the Wrangler side of the forums too.
