Folks:

Since this product is for both the JT and JL. I thought I would post my updates here as well.
The title was changed today because I just received the mirrors.

I will try and copy everything from the JL thread, then update here as I update there.

Today I ordered the Exdfab 4wd | SD1 Tube door for Jeep Gladiator JT & Wrangler JL.

I will update this thread:
- When the doors/mirrors arrive
-On my 1st Weekend (usually Wed & Thur) after they arrive with the shipping time, package condition upon arrival, packing quality, product condition upon arrival & 1st impressions of the fit, finish and quality of the doors.

I will not be installing them until April. Here in NW Iowa, we will still have snow chances into May.

Some things I am excited to see and experience in person are:

I live on dirt roads and I am curious how noisy or silent these will be. I am not expecting quiet because of the nature of the beast. I may be surprised.



This following feature is just damn fine forward thinking! I hadn't considered comfort for 1 second. I also had not thought about how hot a metal door might become in the Iowa summer sun. That could put a good burn on your arm. And being marine grade, these should weather quite well. Mine is a daily driver as well as a trail rig.

I am not yet sure what this means but I will be sure to figure it out and report back.

How many threads and posts comment about disliking a manufactures logo?
These folks have given US the choice to advertise their Company...or not. I for one am always proud to have a logo visible on products which I use and love. My recent trailer acquisition is the newest example. I had the ability to have them NOT place the logo on the back but because of the quality and the Customer service I was more than willing to advertise for them! This first pic shows how we have a choice whether or not to advertise the Companies logo.

I saved the video on "How To Adjust Doors To Remove Rattle" at the point where He actually shows you where and what to do.

So, I get home and there is a package from California. I had no recollection of ordering anything from there.

I started to open it then realized what was in it:

Figured that I had better grab the camera and snap some shots. The mirrors were individually enveloped in that foam like cushy material you see in the pic. They were separated in the box by a piece of cardboard. Thankfully the USPS was gentle with them

Each mirror has a bag of hardware and gasket for mounting.

They look and feel great. I can't wait to get the doors and put them on.

I suspect because of the size and weight of the doors, they are being shipped separately OR the USPS just didn't get them all together.

I will keep the thread updated as things progress. I will also change the title of the thread, so folks know there is new info.

Going to start watching the mailbox daily now @Exceed Fabrication

I will start in on them over these next 2 days - my weekend.


Now a comment for folks who pack and ship the mirror(s) in the box.
@Exceed Fabrication, I have so little faith in the USPS, I would like to suggest (unless the mirrors are fairly indestructible) using bubble wrap instead of the thin foam bag which they come in.

This is NOT a gripe because mine came undamaged. But having worked in a shipping department in a former life & receiving a broken-framed-picture through the mail, I know what can and might happen.

Just a thought. Might even be cheaper in the long run, especially if you have to replace broken mirrors. But you folks know better than me there.

Keep using the cardboard divider between them. That seems to work well.

I KNOW we will still get Snow, Below Freezing Temps, Sub Zero Temps, Rain, High Winds...
But with yesterday's relative warmth, and the upcoming balmy NW Iowa temps, I had to start opening Her up The front full doors & the fantastic heater will keep me toasty.

Here is the normal Winter buttoned up look.

Here she is cleaned out in the back, w/ the plastic off. This is the earliest I have ever done this.
What the heck, always ready to take one for the team.

I ran out of daylight last night, so I still need to adjust the passenger tube, so it doesn't rattle. It was easy enough to do the driver's side.

All the Winter Emergency Gear is stashed safely and can't blow away. Rattles fixed until I see what happens during the daily dirt road travels. Next step is waiting for April to swap in the fronts.

After my 1st day to & from work with the Tubes on, I have NO rattle that these old ears can detect.

BUT... I decided to add a small piece of Velcro (the soft side, because the loop side was too thick) on the pillar where the bump stop rests. This was not NEEDED on the drivers side. Because I lost light when I was finishing the passenger side, and I wanted to drive with these on, I resorted to this until I could fine tune the bump stop. Here is a pic of what I did. This may help others if you want to try this.

You can see I didn't quite get it centered but it works exceptionally well!
