the hop pulls the wheel off teh ground allowing it to free spin the makes contact with the ground. That impact on the ball joint is never good and Is probably what caused the joint to snap. Then snowballed into the rest pretty rapidly. Plus if thats how he was wheeling prior to dipping into the tub that ball joint was probably already compromised. I don't have much experience but speed isn't unusually the answer. If he creeped it out slowly he may have made it. But we will never know LOLIf you’ve been in that hot tub you’ve got more experience with it then probably most of us here.
this is the first time I’ve seen that hole so I’m analyzing the thing by looking at the videos.
I can see among other things that the wheel spin is pushing the front to the right and into that bump at the top right and causing uneven tire contact which makes it harder to get out.
We’re only seeing the part Of the video with the equipment failure but it wouldn’t surprise me if that driver had made a few attempts and realized he had to get a certain amount of momentum to make it all the way up. Unfortunately the momentum put too much pressure on the ball joint and it gave way.
I’m new to 4x4 off road and rock crawling but I’m learning to read the lines and find a good path while having a lot of toe curling fun in the process. ??
