I currently have a Sport S, 6 speed manual, that I put 285/70r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on matte black AEV Pintlers. I've purchased a Rubicon suspension setup and plan on using the 1" spacer from the Teraflex 1.5" kit to get a little bit of rake out. I plan on getting bigger tires, again with the Ridge Grapplers. Having a tough time trying to determine what size fits the best. I don't do any heavy duty rock crawling, but go off road for camping every so often. The tire specs for the 17" Ridge Grapplers are below:

285/70 - 32.76 x 11.50 --> current tire
285/75 - 33.86 x 11.26 --> 1.1" taller, 1/4" narrower
305/70 - 33.86 x 12.24 --> 1.1" taller, 3/4" wider
315/70 - 34.41 x 12.72 --> 1.65" taller, 1.2" wider

I've looked at pages and pages of pictures on this forum (this place is an outstanding resource!). I think the 285/75 is out because while it adds an inch, it gets a little narrower. Is the 305/70 the sweet spot, or should I just quit being a baby and go for the 315s? This is for looks just as much as function (maybe more so). I guess my main concern with the 315's is that they will be too big for just the Rubi + 1" front spacer; by too big I mean look goofy (filling up the entire wheel well) and won't allow for decent articulation. I don't plan on buying a full lift, so this will be the final upgrade for the truck. Any thoughts, guidance, opinions, experience are much appreciated!

Not sure how your Sport fenders will interact, but on a stock Rubicon the 315/70-17's (metric equivalent to 35x12.5-17) fit like they belong there from the factory. There is a LOT of room in the wheel wells on this Jeep!

I have the 315s on my sport S on the stock rubicon wheels and really like the look. I haven’t done any off roading but I’ve had no rubbing. I have the 1.5 inch daystar level on it as well

What did you get height wise when you put the rubicon suspension on? I’m very interested in doing that but it all gets very confusing when I start thinking about using the rubicon suspension with the 1.5 daystar spacer. The rubicon has less rake correct? Some say rubicon suspension plus 3/4 spacer in front levels it out but is that higher or lower than my 1.5 inch spacer on stock sport suspension?

@Ace310 I haven't installed the Rubi suspension yet. I've heard that it's anywhere from 3/4" to 1" but haven't heard that the front lifts higher. If that's the case, I might rethink the 1" and maybe go with the 1/2" spacer. I just don't want the "carolina squat" and I really only want to undo everything once.
Your tires look fantastic. That might put me in the 315/70 category. Is your 1.5" kit just in the front?

Thanks! I’m really happy with the look. Yeah the 1.5 is just in the front and it was super easy to install. Took me about 2.5 hours in my driveway with basic tools. I have about 1/4 inch rake still which I’m cool with. I also didn’t want the Carolina squat. I am interested in switching out the stock sport shocks with the fox shocks from the rubicon though as I hear the ride is much better.
