Upper control arms

I have a 2020 JT Rubicon, 2 1/2 budget boost with lower control arms replaced, after market wheels with 37” tires.


I have a problem with my front end. Something is loose. I can hear it knock when I go over bumps where the vehicle leans to one side or the other. i Have also experienced slight death wobble. I have checked everything. I don’t see anything obvious and everything is tight. there is no play in steering linkages nor ball joints. When I pry on the lower control arms they do not move from side to side. However, the upper control arms move side to side at both ends. Are they supposed to move like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stock rubber bushings allow some deflection. What lower control arms and track bar are you running?

Day star that came with the lift. Track bat and other linkage are stock

Control arms shouldn't cause that. If you haven't tried tightening up everything under there you may do that. I had similar issues with a jk and the track bar was loose. It really needs to be tight. Shock mounts, sway bar links, and track bar should be checked first. Cant imaging what else may cause that.

Also make sure your springs are clocked correctly and that the top spring seat rubber was installed correctly, there is a little rubber nub that goes in a notch, if it is not seated the spring will rotate and can cause those popping sounds.

Everything is tight. I bought new springs to get rid of the pucks. I will re check all nuts and replace springs. Thanks for all the help.

How many miles do you have on them? I only got 5,000 on mine before I started noticing LCA bushing wear. I replaced them with another brand adjustable arms.

I have about 3500 on the lowers.

Do you still have the spring isolators in place? On the JKs they sit on top of the springs.
I haven’t had my JT apart yet.

Yes the directions said to put the pucks between the isolators and the spring. But I will be replacing the springs soon.
