So I was recently recommended to upsize the front track bar bolts to 9/16x3in grade 8 hardware to mitigate play in the bar. I'm aware that the OEM bushings are tightened to where they don't rotate on the bolt sleeve, and only the bushing should flex. However I wheel hard and I would much rather there wasn't literal fractions of inches for the assembly to shift. With that in mind, I installed Mopar 2in lift LCAs the other day to get some caster. And i noticed there's a crap ton of play on the frame side, almost in the excess of a 1/4" of play. enough that i question how straight the axle can be after tightening them down, with no way to accurately align so to speak. Also Jeep, Why in the Kentucky Fried Fuck, are the holes for the LCAs axles side, SQUARE?! Anyway, anyone know if i can squeeze in a larger diameter bolt for the LCAs? TIA.

EDIT: I'm considering these. the Metric bolt on the truck is a 27mm in diameter. these would be 28 and some change. https://www.mcmaster.com/91286A514/

It looks right but no bolt size conformation in thier specs. plus its a weaker zinc coating. I sent them an email to see if they could confirm bolt sizes. don't wanna spend 230 bucks and get hardware that still has slack. especially if its all 9/16 cus thats thinner than the M16 hardware on the arms already. plus i don't need all the hardware. just the 4 bolts for the LCAs. I already have a 9/16 kit for the track bar. and quite frankly it was a bitch and half to get all that shit to 190 ft-lbs while on my back and the truck on the floor. I would like to redo just the front not the whole truck. Thanks for the recommendation tho.

I'm either not understanding which part of the JT you're working on or your dimensions are off...

Wouldn't the 5/8-18 version of the bolt in your link be closer to an M16?

Or is your LCA hole really close to 0.75"? Just installed a lift a few months ago and there is no way I would have been able to install 3/4" hardware into my frame side holes for the LCA. But mine's a '21, so maybe the holes were smaller then?

I don't think I'm helping you much.

i hear what your saying. I'm kinda reaching out since idk what the inner diameter of the bushing sleeve is. I want a tight fit as possible. I did call MC and they said thier bolt refresh kit is an upsize but couldn't recall the size. I may just bite the bullet even tho i can't use thier whole kit. 209 bucks for 20 something bolts is rough imo.

Called MC and they said the Control Amr bolts are bigger than 9/16 and M16. Couldn't confirm the bolt size but the guy said its whatever the standard version of an M18 would be. which is as tight as you can get. so I'll get thier kit. Peace of mind that they have done the leg work will have to be worth the cost in this case.

18mm is .709, so the closest standard size down would be a 5/8 bolt (.625). 19mm is .748 (3/4).
