Hi all - forgive my lack of experience and knowledge. I am new to working on my JT and learning the ins and outs of it! Am about to install my Wolfbox camera and haven’t don’t something like this before. Wondering if I can tie it into the AUX power in the dash, but am uncertain if that will provide consistent power, or if there is a better power source to use?

so far it sounds like running it on the passenger side and through the cowel seems like the best wiring option. I have an RSI cap and think running it on the top rails would work - anyone running this camera with a topper?
Thanks in advance!

If you have the switches they can be programmed to be switched or constant but you also have dedicated constant and switched power independent of the 4 buttons in the same under dash harness. Those are what I used to power my dash cam. No need to go under hood. The 4 switches have wiring under dash and under hood. The extra wires are under dash only.

Your owners manual should have information like this:

Thanks for your reply! Am trying to sort this all out - do you happen to have pictures of your set up? Also curious about programming the switch to be constant, do you have more info on that?

To expand on what @Pliny posted, I wired my dash camera to my aux wire bundle under the glove box. You have both an ignition and battery wire there. Note that some vehicles have AUX 3 and the ignition wire color codings swapped.
