Really interested in what you did for the Plastidip, Can you link to the product? How long do you think it will last?

Cleaned the surface down with rubbing alcohol, granted the truck is brand new so cleaning it to mint condition was pretty easy.

Then used 2 cans of this (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Plasti-Dip-11-oz-Black-11203-6/100131010 ) over many layers, about a 3 hour job.

I think the longevity will depend on how well it’s applied but regardless I think I want the permanent Linex route.

After installing the ACE rock rails for protection, I think I need to get rid of the stock sliders.

38’s are way too close, this won’t last off-road.

Installed the Red Rock Bedside sliders last night.

Easily worth the $200 but install is a pain in the ass, had to cut the Mojave bumper and there is little room for error if you’re using a razor.

Ended up scratching some of the bumper with the razor where there is no cut, but it’s solidified my decision to find a steel bumper which is something I’ve been looking to add to the list anyways.

I’ll have to make sure I can keep these with a more slim line steel rear bumper for best departure angle vs big and bulky that wraps all the way around.

Thanks! I was looking at the Satin Black Grille for mine, but this seems like a waaaaay better alternative.

I mean you can spend the $ for the factory Mopar grille but imo it’s not worth it. You could either Plastidip it or have it Linex’d for a fraction of the price and with the options to choose.

I didn’t choose the OEM black grille because I wanted the freedom of options to figure out which way I wanted to take it.

A lot of this will come down to making decisions after the fact in real world use if that makes sense.

I mostly want to cover the chrome accents of the Overlander package I’m getting so I think I’ll start with Plastidip and see how it holds up then go LineX if I want more or it starts to peel.

Installed the Rugged Ridge HD Full Width front bumper today with the X-Striker Bar.

Tomorrow will be the moment of truth with the 2” AEV spacer lift whether this bumper will work or not due to clearance.

I’m not a fan of the stubby style bumper because I like the protection the full width provides but if this doesn’t clear well with the 38s I’m going to be forced to sell it and buy a stubby.

I cancelled my order for the black Rugged Ridge front skid plate because it’s been delayed 3 times so I’ll deal with that later and find another solution.

The reason I mention it is because I’ve seen a lot of people talk about needing to cut small pieces out of the OEM front skid plate, that isn’t true.

Start with the top 2 bolts and keep it somewhat loose and then work on the bottom two, with some effort it will all fit extremely snug without any cutting needed.

Will know within 48 hours whether this experiment worked or not, wish me luck.

P.S. 37s wouldn’t have an issue imo, but the 38s are pushing it.

Haha perfect! I love that bumper btw! I’m not sure yet…I have a laundry list of things I want to do!

-custom leather seats -this one I’m not sure on yet, I kinda like the cloth which is why I got it to begin with.
-Since I didn’t get leather I want to order the door and dash orange trimmed pieces
-center console wireless charging mod
-exhaust
-intake
-35’s
-rims
-bumpers
-Line-X
-tonneau
-Bed Rack
-Roof top tent

I gotta start setting aside some cash for everything. Im worried about the bumper weight with the Mojave suspension up front though. I don’t really think I want to lift it or do spacers but I don’t want to negatively weigh it down either.

Unexpected morning, had to uninstall the full width bumper because it was rubbing as soon as I backed out of the garage and turned.

Going to install 2” AEV but I have a feeling that won’t cure this full width bumper issue.

So the Rugged Ridge HD Full Width bumper may be for sale soon.

Don't get rid of the stocks, just cut an inch or so off and re inset the cap. Keeps the pinch seem hidden and looks great.

Yes! Little pricey but i planned this because they leather wrap it too and mine isn’t leather wrapped because I got cloth.
