Voltage at idle

What should the voltage be at idle. I have 13.4 I read it should be in the 14 area?

The JT has what’s called a, “Smart Alternator.” The output voltage depends on the charge level of the batteries. Also, I doubt you’ll get enough output at an idle to develop significant charging voltage. Yours sounds normal to me.

It's going to be anywhere from 12.6 to 14.6 depending on the state of the batteries. My batteries are over three years old. If it sits for several days, it usually starts out at 14.6 and decreases the longer it's driven. The last two nights it has been down to 12.8 but it has been driven every day this week and well over 600 miles since Monday

Today mine read 13.3 volts at engine idle/park/warm after 20-mile drive (no A/C). All good! ;)
