WANT TO: Add proximity handles to my half doors...

SO I picked up a set of half doors a while back, after 3 Jeeps and years of drooling over them...

They don't have proximity handles and obviously aren't keyed to my OEM Jeep key. I'm going to get new lock cylinders to rekey them myself, but figured while I was in there, might as well add the proximity handles too! BUT, not sure what I need! My original full doors have them, and the new half doors do have the pig tails for power mirrors, hoping that powers the proximity handles as well, but haven't opened up the doors to see if there's a pigtail up by the handle yet.

Anyone else do this yet?

I have a set of black proximity handles I took off my 2021 and replaced with painted to match handles. Not sure what they’re worth but if you’re interested send me a offer.

There is a kit on eBay. If your truck came with proximity it’s a pretty easy swap.

I did this to my 21 full doors. Easy swap, especially if your truck side is wired for it, but since your half doors don't have the proximity handles already, you will need the door wire harness that includes the 2 extra wires for the proximity handles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235664966204

I was deep down the rabbit hole this weekend, lol... found a solid thread on the JL forums, contacted a guy on here that used to make those little harnesses...

Picked up a set of black handles from another forum member here, @agoldxj (much appreciated man!)

Also got my Ultra Light Rubicon Hood installed (@Raider2 would be proud lol)... Now I've got a Mojavicon 4xe

Definitely glad to see someone's still making the simple pin 15 and 16 harness to add on Proximity handles. I was just going to jam in some wires and run them for a while

Luckily my Jeep had them on the OG doors, can't wait for these half doors to be "fully loaded!"

Anyone know about the little dead plug under the driver side corner cowl?

Yeah the half door harness does NOT look like the full door harness, the half door is completely different inside as well. Obviously, no glass means no motor and no plugs, among other things...

Check pins 15 and 16 on your main door harness (JEEP SIDE) My OG doors had proximity, so those pins are there, but NOT on the half door side, so that eBay little pigtail will be perfect for me/my situation.

Its funny, I don't touch my Jeep for a while, then I do one little mod and it opens the flood gates... I went from, "I think I wanna do a painted cowl,"and end up swapping hoods, cowls, doing the 4xe cowl for the new ARB dual brushless (yet to purchase, but soon) under the fender, proximity sensors in the half doors, lol... slippery damn slope. Be careful out there ladies and gentlemen! lol

It SAYS it's for a half door, but there's some stuff on that harness that's NOT on my half door harness, makes me think it's just for a full door and they call it half door ready or whatever.

Hadn't seen that one, thanks! Got it pretty handled for now I think. Have my newish proximity handless, just need to throw them on the doors... That's the easy part. With my new little eBay pigtails, I just need to open the doors up again, run the wiring and plug in pins 15 and 16 to their respective spots on the main plug and I'm set!

Easy question. Locks!

I have power locks on the full doors, proximity handles too... it's really nice to walk up to the jeep and it unlocks when I go to pull the handle... My half doors are dumb handles, lol... SO.... fixing that. I lock them when I'm away from the jeep, just like full doors. If the door uppers are off, I still lock, which makes the alarm activate if someone reaches in and unlocks and opens a door... Hell, I'd "lock" the doors if they were totally off, just to activate the alarm!

I'm not dumb, anyone can break into the Jeep any time, half doors, full doors, no doors, but this keeps the honest people honest, as they say.
