Today I went through the car wash and halfway through the wash the water in fuel light came on for like 3 seconds and then turned off.

Anybody experience this? should I be concerned?

would it be more likely water got on a wire or sensor and tripped it for a second or that it legitimately detected water in the fuel?

Thanks

I haven't had this happen to mine and I have been through the car wash plenty of times. If I was you though, I would go under the Jeep to the fuel filter/water separator and crack the drain bolt and see if any water comes out for good measure... draining water out of that is part of the standard maintenance schedule anyway so can't hurt.

I think it’s highly unlikely the car wash got water into your fuel system…unless the fuel cap was off and water got in your tank. As previously indicated it’s probably related to your fuel retailer. Drain / fill a water or coke bottle about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way and let it settle for a couple of minutes. I think there’s a nip you can slide a piece of tubing on to aid in its extraction. It may also help to take the mini skid plate off of it for easier access. Let us know what you find.
