The thread was regarding tonneau covers; at least, I interpreted the question as such......
Yes. I think he's asking if the hard tonneau interferes with the soft top. I could be wrong.

In retrospect he could be asking about hard vs soft tonneaus. Him saying "soft top" led me in the initial direction.

Got it! I know it's only Tuesday but I can't be that checked out from the week already! I was on the hard/soft tonneau route.... Can confirm, neither of us is crazy....yet!

I just worded my question poorly. A soft tonneau I'm guessing takes up way less space in the bed when rolled up vs this hard tri-fold. Besides it being much harder to break in is there any other reason to get a hard tri-fold vs soft tonneau that rolls up?

I was picking up what you were throwing down (do the kids still say that?). I have a soft tonneau that rolls up, but will be purchasing the tri-fold for added security (false sense, I get it; if they want in, they will get in) and aesthetic reasons. I've been happy with all my WeatherTech purchases and expect this to be the same. If a hard cover can deter a thief even on appearance, I am in; We take a lot of gear to the beach and end up parking on the other side of dunes, etc. quite regularly, so it's peace of mind for us. I know it's somewhat pricey, but our gear is worth more so why not protect it?!?

It works with the Trail Rail system. I am answering your question not with personal experience but rather an inquiry I already made to them directly.
Interesting. That does make the cover more attractive due to the price

For the weathertech cover, I wonder if you can put a kayak on top of it when folded once, and perhaps utilize your trail management system to tie it down? I don't see any other way to tie a kayak down on top of the cover

Looks nice, but that price is why I switched to soft ti-fold covers (after installing Bakflips on all my full size pick ups.) I'll stick with the one from my Colorado that (thanks to info from this forum) fits the Gladiator perfectly (new it's right around $200).
do you have the trail rails?

I don't have kayaks but the solution sounds viable. Our approach is that we want multiple solutions that can coexist without too much additional effort to switch between them. We have multiple Yakima racks that I want to be able to install without removing the tonneau completely. If I can secure the tonneau in the folded position and have a rack when I need/want.....done deal!

Does this require the trail rail to install? I don't have that so wondering how it works

I was looking at the weather tech cover last night and debating the price as it is less expensive than other hard covers. According to the site it is a no drill installation and the cover can handle 400 pounds evenly distributed. The cover is supposed to be 60 pounds and based on the video you could pop the entire thing off in about 5 minutes. Also it is shipped fully assembled so supposedly all you need is a wrench to tighten the clasps.

As you can see, I am truly debating this vs a soft tri-fold. Most of it is aesthetics and just keeping crap out of the bed but it would be nice to keep my tool bag in the bed instead of keeping it in the back seat. I would just like to see one face to face and play with it for a couple minutes.

Nope. It has two clamps at the front (behind cab) and two quick release clamps at the rear. Takes just a few minutes to install with no cutting/modding.

Here's a video that shows installation. I don't have the safety clamps, so that might be something new.

I’m pretty happy with my Mopar Tri-Fold Hard Cover Tonneau, install myself in Sport S no trail system.

This is more of a general question about hard tri-fold covers, but wouldn't those get in the way more of a soft top that rolls up? Is that just what you live with for more security?
Yes Choi. I have the soft roll up which barely covers the bottom of my rear window and that's precisely why I didn't order mine with the Tri-Fold bed cover. The view through my rear view mirror is unobstructed.
