Today, its happened a few times over the past 2 years, the jeep hesitated to start.

Push start button and then...

The engine turned on then almost stalled, rpm way up, back down, almost starts, then almost stalls all the the rpm is going crazy. Sounds ROUGH as it struggles.

Starts itself after about 3-4 seconds. Runs fine after that.

I was thinking batteries and the lack of power just barely allowing it to start but it's unlike any low battery start I have ever had on any other vehicle.

Thoughts? Anyone else?

Mine has done that two or three times over the 2 years I've owned it - I can't figure it out. No codes and it didn't log any usable information (no misses, etc.).

I don't want to say it's "normal" but I don't know if it's a concern.

These are not like any other vehicles..............
Have you bothered to put a volt meter on the battery terminals and checked battery voltage with the truck OFF?

Never assume because a vehicle cranks or starts "the battery must be ok", even a faulty battery may actually crank and start an engine.

24 JT did it once on cold start. Engine sounded like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders. Previous JT did it often on cold start. Depressing accelerator pedal ususlly cleared it up. No codes. Had the FCA company guys look at it, but they couldn’t duplicate the condition.

My 25 did that once.
There's something different about the 2024 and later radios that they ignore volume input until a few seconds after startup, but only once in a while.

Fluke thing.
Mine hasn't done that volume blast thing since that one time and it was on a hard turn. (clock spring issue?)

We've found that loose battery connections can do this, one guy even had his make a hole in the rubber positive terminal cover. Connection issues are COMMON with these and the style of clamps they use.
Replacing batteries likely fixed the actual problem simply by the fact - connections were removed or moved, loosened and tightened, IBS reset and so on.

Well went to start the Jeep this moring. Dead. Dead as dead can be. Jump starter pack nor neighbors truck would start it.

Let it charge for about 15min and got it to start. Alternator says 14.7v when in park but as soon as you try to drive it, it starts to stall out, loose power steering, lights flicker.

Then when I went to get out I had the key fob in my pocket so it did the three horn honk, which killed the truck.

Towed it to the dealer as they were doing that instrument panel recall this week for me anyway. Less than 2yr old and 20k miles so I am letting them deal with battery issue.

Yeah on my new 2025 the delayed volume thing reminds me of a slow processor or a bunch of startup programs loading and uConnect can't handle it. "Upgraded Tech" lol. I have not experienced the volume increase while turning, however this system does seem a bit finicky at times.
