Wow! I bet that woke you up!

I remember years ago when I was in HS, I was going somewhere with my dad. I clearly remember seeing a rock shoot directly at me, in the passenger seat, off the tires of a semi with no trailer... it made a break like yours just over the size of a golf ball right in front of my face. Good thing the windsheild was sloped in that car!

That’s definitely an incident that pulls out the dark grammar kept behind locked doors. But that won’t be nothing compared to the warranty overlord telling you the damage chip is too big or the cracks too long for warranty to replace. I do wish you luck in that conversation.

I don’t have gorilla glass but I got this ear ringer yesterday. Lucky for me, normal windshields up here only cost $230 cad to replace. These need to get replaced once a year anyway, there’s too much sand pitting that happens to keep it longer than that.

My insurance company has been great to work with and the glass company replaces the glass with a crack larger than a dollar bill. Having 3 windshields replaced for free is why I have full glass coverage.

The replacement windshield arrived today.
Now I have to pay to have it installed.

I put windshield protection film onto mine. This one. If your insurance doesnt cover windshields for free, I'd check it out.

Well, just to finalize, HGP was good with their warranty: they replaced the windshield, and reimbursed about 70% of the installation costs.
So altogether, I ended up paying about the same for two windshields as I would have with two conventional windshields.
However, I’m confident that the HGP GG window survived at least a couple of strikes that would’ve damaged a regular window.
