So when installing my Fishbone off-road fender and fender liners, I had some issues on the passenger side. There was a bracket on the passenger side that required me to cut the liner to fit.

Today I called them about the fitment and if the rears would fit without much fuss. They said they never had a problem on their 22’ Gladiator, but mine is a 23’.

My question is what is this bracket for? It doesn’t appear that anything is attached to this bracket.

It's part of the crash protection systems, keeps the front wheel out of your passenger's lap or something like that. It's a frequent subject of "What is this thing?" posts

Usually I see the what is the connector under the hood. Which is always for adaptive cruise control.

Well good to know about the bracket. I was curious since it wasn’t on my last two Gladiators.

It can be removed if you hate it, but one of the bolts has to be cut to be removed:

Bro wheels…?. Of the things hanging out on the underbody this is probably of minimal concern. Jeep added this b/c of the poor passenger side overlap ratings, I keep it for the wife. Probably not great to remove if you want to sell it.

Yeah I don't understand removing it when it's stock, it's there for a purpose and if you're going to get hung up on that, I've got some bad news about your wheelbase...

But once you lift it, that bracket probably performs opposite of how it's supposed to, creating a new fulcrum for the wheel to flip the Jeep over with. At least, that's how it looks to me. I might take mine off but it's certainly not high on the to do list and I wouldn't call it the Biggest Flaw
