And even if you drove home 50 miles in 4H with both front and rear diff locked, you wouldn't hurt anything.
Except when turning a tight corner.

No, the tires would scrub and everything would be fine. Nothing would break. If you did it for 50k miles then you might have issues. But none of this will actually hurt anything.

Won't hurt a bit other than some minor tire wear and a tiny little bit more wear and tear on u-joints and Rzeppas.

My ex-wife would forget to take her H2 out of 4Hi semi-frequently, my favorite 4x4 shop even did it for her one time after we parted ways.

It's not a fragile vehicle, you know?

EDIT: I just realized you said 4 Hi Auto, SMH! Look, the H2 is ONLY 4Hi Auto, Hell I gave away an Explorer at 196K that only had 2Hi because I added a switch to disable the clutch in the transfer case that kept it in 4Auto. There's no reason beyond .5 MPG you can't tell you're saving to shift out of 4Auto. You're seriously worrying about NOTHING.

Damn it! Made a horrible mistake today...
Came from a little off road on 4H auto and then,...
Yup.. totally forgot about switching it back on to 2H and drove on the freeway for around 5 ish miles doing 85 mph..

The engine sounded slightly louder, then I finally realized what a moron I was....

Put it back in 2H and drove another 100 mi to come home.
Seems to be ok so far, but did i kill my car??
