While we are on the subject of locking tonneau covers.

Disklike keeping up with extra keys, so I mounted a 48" retractable keychain under my Diamond Back cover. If the doors and tailgate are locked the cover key can't be accessed to unlock the cover, when the tailgate is unlocked the key is handy and easy to access without having to keep up with an extra key.

Thanks! The part that makes me most nervous is drilling through the bed, and future corrosion. Did you paint or protect the exposed metal in any way? Worried about it at all, or am I nuts?
Probably less of an issue for me since I have the Smartcap on all the time but I did hit the exposed metal on the inside of the holes with some black paint (using a Q-Tip) just to be sure. The first hole is the hardest, after that it's a done deal. :)

The Bedslide centers up really good on two of the ridges in the bed and it's a pretty straight-forward install once you have the holes located.

Let me know if there are any other details I can provide. For reference I have the JCR Offroad MOLLE panels and it's a pretty tight fit but nothing it touching or rubbing at all.

good idea - but
you need to put that on a quick release so you can get to the front lock…!

@mx5red gets thanks for making the extra hole disappear. :like:

I may still take a bit of black on a q-tip and make the screw heads match better (they are black but black bolts aren't really black)

It's really easy to unlatch the cover, really - open tail gate, flip the levers up and at the same time pull the hook back. Each can be done with one hand in seconds. Similar for latching.

Hooked up my box trailer 8'x11' to see if my 4" drop tongue was going to get me level and it did and then drove it around to test out the Mopar trailer brake controller I installed and to see how it was going to follow the Gladiator. All went as expected. Perfect !

I very seldom open the front cover, I have a key kept in the console for that. I got tired going all the way up to the console when I wanted to lock/unlock the rear cover and then putting the key back.

Took forever and a day, but finally got the new switch box installed and all the wiring neatly buttoned up. Most difficult part was cutting to the right length such that I could work with it, but not having too much excess. Switches:
1. Roof Light Bar
2. 4 A-Pillar Cube Lights
3. 4 Cargo Box Yellow Fog Cube Lights
4. 2 Rear Bumper Cube Lights
5. 2 Side Step Mounted Rock Cube Lights
6. Front Locker (TBI)
7. Winch Power (via isolator)
8. Air Compressor (via relay)

Last thing is to cut the cargo box fog harness to size and can finally drive it again.

I love when people put time and work into clean wiring under the hood like this. It almost needs its own thread IMO.

Installed a Fox steering stabilizer. Can’t remember if I had the issue on my 2020 rubicon but on my 2021 Willys the carriage bolt does not fit through the opening on the shock body. The stock stabilizer has the hole on the body stepped up so the carriage bolt will fit. So if you install this your gonna need a new bolt for the mount near the wheel. Fortunately I had one in the garage.

I believe it’s a late 2021 build change, known issue. Mine didn’t require it luckily.
