Looks like a good time. What area/trails did you go on? I’m Orlando area also and always looking to explore new places to wheel.
Richloam WMA near Groveland.

A lot of great trails but gets a little mushy with frequent rain.
Went out last night to recover a stranded Gladiator and it took 4 attempts to reach them because the trails were swamped.

I also run Ocala National Forest regularly.
Been trying to get out to Citrus wma which I hear is the funnest run.

Been to all 3 a few times. Richloam definitely has the most mud to get stuck in. Kids like it because they know we stop at the general store for some ice cream.

Citrus is a good time. Id suggest Trail 14 and where 9a intersects 14 head a little north and there are some good fun spots right off the trail to climb. Make sure you look for signs on trees as the close some parts of the areas on 9a sometimes.

Continued working on tomorrows winch install. I’m using the Grimm plate this time. I’ve always used the Maximus 3 plates in the past. My first observations are purely aesthetics.

Maximus comes with black external hardware.

Grimm is standard bronze stuff which I chose not to use and found some leftover black in one of my bins.

Maximus uses 4 bolts to mount the fairlead plate which makes the the plate bend and conform nicely to the curved factory steel bumper.

Grimm only uses 2 bolts, and after mounting the fairlead plate and fairlead, there was a noticeable gap at the top of the plate (purely aesthetic at this point)

I chose to drill out two more holes in the Grimm plate, added a couple more bolts and it is just as snug as the Maximus.

I chose the Grimm plate this time because Northridge seems to like them and I’ve had great luck with them as a vendor.

They also had a great sale on the last holiday which saved me close to $100 (or a tank and 1/2 of gas)

And since this is going on a Mojave I was hoping the skeletonized Grimm might weigh a little less then the Maximus.

If the actual plate mounts up as easy as the Maximus, I’m sure I will be happy. If not I’m sure I will wish I took that extra Texas 10 and stuck it up someon…9

Used a spare 20A fuse to replace the blown one for the "Cigar Lighter". Guess it's not rated to charge 3 phones at once on a 500 mile road trip.

If you are saying that you used a higher ampere fuse to replace one that blew, I urge caution. Fuses/circuit breakers are there to protect the wiring from excessive current. Putting in a higher amp fuse could allow you to overload the wiring, resulting in damage to the wiring … or a fire. If you can’t modify the circuit with higher-capacity wiring, then a better option is to decrease the load you are placing on it.

Yeah, prior F/A-18 electrician. I know not to fizzuck with tolerances when it comes to electricity. I replaced like for like with a spare fuse.

My future plan is to wire a couple of charge only USB plugs to one of my aux buttons to split the load. I've seen too many pictures and heard too many horror stories to mess with wiring.

I tried to get one installed from a local "preferred dealer" and they said that stopped carrying them because they had too many returns because of issues. ?

After 62,000+ miles, I figured I finally got my money's worth out of the original Bridgestone Dueler ATs and replaced them with Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws. The Bridgestones were not horrible in snow the first winter, but toward the end of last winter they were downright terrifying. They still passed state inspection 3 months ago, and were still not quite to the wear indicators, but no way could I go another winter like that last snow storm.
