Added the 1" coil spacers up front. AEV High Capacity coils. Much better stance, still has a stout, usable rake.

How is the ride? I have only heard those are super stiff but I am in the weight category for them. Currently on the standard duty springs and I need to either spring up or get stiffer shocks.

I think with the weight they balance out pretty good. I'm still a bit light for what they're designed for but I won't be fully loaded. As long as you have the weight over top of them the ride quality should be more heavily dictated by your shocks, imo. Ride quality is very subjective, though. I'm still running the stock Fox shocks spaced down and its much less wallow-y and bouncy. But overall harshness is very comparable, I think.

I've built lots of Jeeps and for different purposes and I'm taking this one part at a time to try to see how it reacts and what it needs.

I'm guessing there's probably a good chance I'm going to overwork these shocks and I'm shortening the life on them greatly.

Update:

With RSI Smartcap installed, ended up going with ceramic limo tint on the sides, and no tint on the rear. Note that for those seeking to tint their sides, it makes the rear window and inside wayyy more darker than what it is.

Nice looking rig? What lift and shocks are you running?

Continued working on tomorrows winch install. I’m using the Grimm plate this time. I’ve always used the Maximus 3 plates in the past. My first observations are purely aesthetics.

Maximus comes with black external hardware.

Grimm is standard bronze stuff which I chose not to use and found some leftover black in one of my bins.

Maximus uses 4 bolts to mount the fairlead plate which makes the the plate bend and conform nicely to the curved factory steel bumper.

Grimm only uses 2 bolts, and after mounting the fairlead plate and fairlead, there was a noticeable gap at the top of the plate (purely aesthetic at this point)

I chose to drill out two more holes in the Grimm plate, added a couple more bolts and it is just as snug as the Maximus.

I chose the Grimm plate this time because Northridge seems to like them and I’ve had great luck with them as a vendor.

They also had a great sale on the last holiday which saved me close to $100 (or a tank and 1/2 of gas)

And since this is going on a Mojave I was hoping the skeletonized Grimm might weigh a little less then the Maximus.

If the actual plate mounts up as easy as the Maximus, I’m sure I will be happy. If not I’m sure I will wish I took that extra Texas 10 and stuck it up someon…9

Installed a OEM matte grille I found on Facebook Marketplace for a really cheap price. It has the jet black lower surround but my truck is Granite Crystal Mettallic so it doesn’t stand out too much. Nice subtle change from my sport S grille.
