We have rain inbound but I’ve noticed after the past few washes/rains that the wax job(if any) was subpar. Bought from dealer 12/23. Washed/waxed her today and the hood felt gritty so clay barred the hood. Soft as cotton now. Incredible difference a clay bar job can do.

People make fun of me, call me OCD etc but I usually clay new vehicles not long after I get them home. It's amazing what they pick up in transport or sitting outside on the dealer lot.

My fairly new Black one is already swirled, I'd like to kill the dealer attendant that washed it, pretty sure they used pine needles on a brush to do it with. I should know better then to buy a black vehicle, but here we are. Third one I've owned in my life so I knew what I was getting myself into.

Having said that, for those of you that do your own paint correction with compound and da polisher, how do you deal with the big ol' hood graphic (willys, mojave, rubicon). I've never had to deal with vinyl that big. If it was a few years old I'd probably pull it off and replace it, but quite a waste since it's only a couple months old. I know you can lightly correct vinyl, and it's easy on wide stripes, you just stay on the vinyl. But this decal has so many edges. I can't decide if I should just tape it off and let the little bit of paint you can see between the letters go....or....?

One of the reasons I took off the Rubicon stickers is for the very reason of not being able to do a really good wax job without wax stuck to the edges.

I have that bumper. It's been great for three years.

Not too worried about the wax. More concerned about tearing up the edges with the cutting pad.

Installed Rough Country Black Series Halo LED lights. Seem very bright and have switch back DRL lights. Can't wait to see how they look in the dark.

I just bought those mounts… still waiting on the lights. ?
Awesome. Those mounts are pretty beefy. My lights came Wednesday and the mounts Friday. Got off early enough to get everything installed before dark. Very pleased.
One bit of advise. This was the first time I had taken my grill off. A couple of the clips stayed in the bar where the grill attaches. I've lost clips on panels from previous vehicles by leaving the clips in place and trying to replace panels. That only pushed the clips though the hole. With that in mind I removed the clips from the support bar and reattached them to the grill before reinstalling it. But in the process one of the clips fell through the hole and disappeared. Just my luck. They have so much spring in them that I had a hard time grasping them and one sprung into never never land. Had to run to the parts store around the corner to get an extra clip. So just be careful and don't make the mistake I made.
