Nice. I’ve been contemplating doing something about the speakers too. Gotta say I was expecting better from the premium system. I honestly think the premium Alpine system in my 16 JK hits harder .

Highly recommend this upgrade. Install takes about 10 minutes, and the sound improvement is immediately noticeable. I just did the same, with the exact same speakers about 2 weeks ago.

Did require adapters, but if you order through crutchfield like I did, they send the adapter you need along with the speakers, for free. If you order elsewhere, this is the adapter you need.

Installed some Kicker 3.5" and 4" speakers in the sound bar. What a difference... Much fuller sound overall, sound depth and front of the vehicle can actually be heard now with the 3.5" speakers added up there last week.

Needed different wiring adapters for the 4" (VGH-72-6514) vs the 3.5" speakers in the rear and had to use some small self tapping screws as the holes didnt line up (3 of the 4 - 1 OEM Screw lined up) but think it came out pretty good.

Definitely worth the $250 or so I spent on 3 sets of speakers and adapters/screws. Could have been a lot more expensive.

Oh yeah... Also changed the oil and filter today too (at 2000 miles). Figured I'd get this first one in now and then again at 6k w/tire rotation and 6k thereafter. The job is really easy on these vehicles.

Agreed. I think a lot of premium oem systems these days are rip offs - my wife’s car has a “Meridian” premium system and it is worse than the Jeep’s. It has 14 speakers but I’ve had systems in the past with 6 speakers that were 10x better.

At this point I’m pleasantly surprised though how much better the entire system sounds just with this one change. Debating replacing the roll bar speakers next but will give it a little time.

My 2020 RAM had the HK system it was pretty darn good

Agreed... Had 3 RAMs in row w/that system and I never thought about any upgrades at all. This Jeep though... the speakers are complete trash.

I dont know about that. Compare the JT OEM speakers to the TJ. HUGE improvement....

That being said, I'd be interested in a relatively plug and play upgrade as well. It seems like there's 3 main options? Kicker, Alpine, and I think I saw another one but I can't recall the name....

At 2K that alpine kit had better be good. I only have one ear, so hearing isn't great, but I certainly can feel the vibrations so would be more interested in bass performance than tweeters.

Is the sub that comes with that kit noticeably better? Does it mount in the factory location?

I have the 9 speaker system with the Sub in my HA. Its mounted behind the seat and I think it works pretty well. The RAMs I had also had Subs and more speakers (I think).

My RAM was a 19 speaker HK system and it was way better than the 9 speaker Alpine in any of my vehicles, another RAM, Challenger and this Gladiator.

I was just saying that not all OEM systems are trash.

Looks great. Out of curiosity, what did they charge you? I only priced it once an was told it would be much cheaper in satin and I preferred it as my color choice.

The best factory sound system I’ve ever heard is in my wife’s LX570 19-speaker, 450-watt Mark Levinson. Unreal.

Agreed. I test drove a lexus once and was amazed at the Levinson system.
