My RAM was a 19 speaker HK system and it was way better than the 9 speaker Alpine in any of my vehicles, another RAM, Challenger and this Gladiator.

I was just saying that not all OEM systems are trash.
agreed, the RAM HK systems are awesome.

I do IT stuff so I can buy Jeep stuff.
I had to order extras of dino because my wife wants one on her JLU - and we all know that Jeep windshields can break every 10 years minutes or so. .
I fixed your typo ;)

After he gave that tip - I wondered about using some of the numerous wood blocks of all shapes and sizes I have to put under the ball joints.
Taking the tires off is also advantageous for checking on other things while in there.
When I changed out the head on my XJ, I lowered the front axle on to blocks so the rotors were just off the ground. With the lift and the Bushwacker flat fender flares, it was the only way I could work on it without being on a short ladder. My back still hurt for weeks. I should have taken off the flares.

I did that with some sarcasm, or satire, or whatever in mind. I figured someone would find and fix it. ? ?

Getting some good tips here for this old, out of shape guy who still likes to do as much as possible. I should say "thanks" for all of those.

The forum needs another "like" choice - some form of thanks.

If that was a 4.0 - people don't realize how heavy the heads were. They are long, cast iron, and heavy. The 4.0 was supposedly only about 50 pounds shy of the AMC Gen II V8 in the earlier years before Chrysler put it on a diet.

It was heavy and there was no way to get good leverage on it. I have done a lot of sbc heads, I was amazed how heavy the 4.0 head was. I used a long piece of galvanized fence post with a hole drilled in it and a chain bolted to it and then the front and back of the head. My wife and I picked it up and walked it forward over the front. Reversed this to put the new one on.

I finally got around to installing my front and rear dashcams. The front was the normal behind the mirror but I wanted the back to still work without the top. I pieced together a few things and I think it works pretty well.

It is a 1" angled ball adapter for the base, a diamond ball mount (upside-down), and a 5.9" Double Socket arm. The way the camera mounts doesn't allow for movement so I had a small piece of 90° metal I cut to size and spray painted to get the correct angle.

I used the hardtop bolt for the angled one to not make any new holes. The links below are what I bought but anything similar should work.

BRCOVAN Aluminum Alloy Mount Base with 1'' TPU Ball & 10mm Mounting Hole, Angled Bolt Head Adapter Ball Base Compatible with RAM Mounts B Size 1 Inch Ball Double Socket Arm https://a.co/d/gZVArm.

Got it Saturday performed my first mod today.

I will be towing my camper and pontoon boat with it and the hitch lock on my Ranger I traded in wouldn't come off so ordered a new one with a D ring made into it.

Changed the fluid in the front diff. I few small shavings on the magnet, so I’ll do a cover off inspection after the Moab trip next week. Oil was clean though. This was proactive after mud holes.

Ok this isn't really too my gladiator, but for my gladiator. I was looking for bed storage options and found the shelf type units as good but I didn't want to pay the 2O0 to 300 for the plastic options. So I did this for $70 in weldable steel and a can of gexulea. Bed liner

That is the base that can be strapped into the ring tie downs.

My storage boxes fit perfectly,

And it can be secured anywhere in the bed or reversed as a tailgate block

Yes my welding skills suck, but after several attempts I got solid welds

Kudos for building instead of buying.
