Installed the knockoff steel bumper at the campground. It's rained all weekend so I'll work on the skid plate later this week or next weekend. I'll 3D print some plugs for those sensor holes too. Minor trimming on the bumper. Glad to free up bed space after carrying the winch around for 2 months.

Took it to the mall today and picked up some dents. People are a little rude in parking lots these days...

The Brown’s “shopping center” is pretty tough in this weather.

Just ordered the AFE Dynamic Air Scoop (D.A.S.) Snorkel. I was on the fence regarding the Rugged Ridge* high/low as it just didn't look beefy enough to take rough trails or tree branch scrub impacts well enough. While the Rugged Ridge low intake has a lot of cool factor, I just couldn't see the advantage of having it except to move the air intake further behind a bow wave if I ever got hood deep in water. I will avoid deep crossings anyway and the snorkel is mostly for dust ingestion mitigation and not to be a "bubblehead" submariner. Additionally, the innovative inline water drain pug at the base of the snorkel tube is a great idea. The system doesn't come with an intake drain (the Rugged Ridge does) but in the five years I ran a Dobinson snorkel on my Taco I never had trapped water in the intake plenum, and I drove it in typhoon epic rain fall without incident. I will install by the New Year (currently deployed until next week) and review it here.

I've not seen that design before. Looks really good! I like that it keeps the side of the hood clear and doesn't require cutting. The only downside for me is that I would like a dust pre-filter, as in the cyclone type that uses centrifugal force to throw out heavier particles. So I've leaned toward the AEV. BUT, this one has enough advantages that I might be inclined to give up the pre-filter.

As for the @Quadratec snorkel, are you talking about the Rugged Ridge? I don't see a Quadratec branded option.

Nice setup!

My bad, yes, the Rugged Ridge snorkel. At the end of my crew day and was getting ready to sleep when I posted that. I agree on a pre-filter. On my Taco I had a Volant cold air intake with a Maxflow oiled air filter with a rain/debris sock pre-filter that protected the system pretty well. Kinda like the ones on my high flow exposed motorcycle intakes wear in rain storms. Micron size of the mesh deterred water from entering the filter and was an easy maintenance action to pop the cover and shop vac the occasional debris out of the housing. I have the K&N filter in my Gladiator and am looking for some way to adapt a similar mesh "pre" filter to its rectangular shape.

Thanks for sharing about this. The more I see on that AFE the more I like it.

And also thank you for your service! I hope you stay safe while deployed!

I look forward to seeing how this installation goes and to hear your feedback on it!

One downer side to these devices are if you run with windows down, doors off, top off, all the engine noise is feed directly into the front passenger’s ear.

Installed the Synergy Sector Brace to help with a slight "wander". Helped a little but no solution.

Lol, good to know. Fortunately I don't drive my JT that way. Just my Wrangler, which isn't getting a snorkel. I run it all summer with no top or doors.

Just ordered the MOPAR side view mirrors for the Tube doors, so as soon I get it I'll be selling my CMM off-road 6inch side mirrors.

Tried to get my leaking rear axle seal fixed but the dealer decided to just replace the whole axle (sweet). Waiting for parts so that will have to wait until January.

Also tried to get the new wheels put on, but the dealer didn’t have tire pressure sensors on hand. Bummer.
