Well ,I finally found my noise .. I swear I would never have thought it . But there seems to be slack in the bolt going through the center of my teraflex control arm. I must have been on a bind last couple times I checked and couldn't get no movement this time I did .. so now is the center wore out or the boltFinally got around to chasing a noise I've been hearing from the front end for a few weeks whenever I hit a bump or pothole. Ended up being a slightly loose sway bar disconnect.
I’d guess you’re entirely fine. Just tighten it until it no longer has play.Well ,I finally found my noise .. I swear I would never have thought it . I must have been on a bind last couple times I checked and couldn't get no movement this time I did .. so now is the center wore out or the boltthis sorta is upsetting ..but I hope it's and easy fix. I found it at work. So now I have to work will let ya know if it was bolt wore down or center bushing of that control arms.
The Bolt isnt moving .....Well if the bolt is like rubbed in half or something or the metal bushing in the middle of the torsion bushing in the control arm is wore out I may be talking to @TeraFlex ,I’d guess you’re entirely fine. Just tighten it until it no longer has play.
How I’d love to be offroad every day. That’s amazing. Does it feel like it’s seized to the sleeve inside the bushing? Meaning does the bolt rotate with resistance and then spring back? The Bolt isnt moving .....Well if the bolt is like rubbed in half or something or the metal bushing in the middle of the torsion bushing in the control arm is wore out I may be talking to @TeraFlex ,
If bolt is bad will replace and go on with life . If center is wore out then I have LCA wore out in little over a year![]()
I'm off road every single day .. so guess it gets a workout .
No the bolt is tight in place .. its weird that it did this .. dont make sense ..How I’d love to be offroad every day. That’s amazing. Does it feel like it’s seized to the sleeve inside the bushing? Meaning does the bolt rotate with resistance and then spring back?
When I get to the house this evening that bolt will definitely be tried to see if it seized to the bushing sleeve inside .How I’d love to be offroad every day. That’s amazing. That still seems loose to me then. You’re the one touching it though. I know the ideal world preference is a manual torque wrench until your arms hurt, but did you hit it with a mid torque impact to see if it stops moving. When I have one loose that clunks, it’s the same thing. The bolt “appears” tight as all hell, but the arm moves just a bit. I just use the common sense method of not over squeezing brackets and breaking bolts. With certain components f you couldn’t force me to bring out an impact. But control arms? Screw it.No the bolt is tight in place .. its weird that it did this .. dont make sense ..
Yeah it is sorta cool to be in mud and dirst and rocks every single daybut it's hard on stuff. Thats why I'm always maintenenceing something or other
I can grab the arm and it giggles up and down and bolt stays still.
I’ve had that happen, but not with Teraflex. All 8 of mine are from them now. I’m an ALPINE IR superfan. When I get to the house this evening that bolt will definitely be tried to see if it seized to the bushing sleeve inside .
Is it? If it were me, I’d have a machine shop (should be cheap) make a couple shoulder washers to “replace” a worn out hole on the outside of the bracket, while holding it still.@WILDHOBO Question ,What would I do if the hole in the bracket is wore out ? Like oblonged ?? Are there repair pieces ?
I aint a welder and frankly only know one guy who does ... so complete bracket replacement really isn't something I want to do either .. but may be forced to ..

They do not. Of course, I say that, not having ever made steel. But I stayed at a holiday inn express last night. Dammit. Still lying. I stayed at one earlier this year. That is exactly% what I will do . Dang it . They just dont make steel like they used to
