Well I'm glad you didn't pass out from the exhaust fumes or get shot from someone mistaking the backfire. It was. Got a lot of looks. Not because it was old and cool, but because the exhaust was cut off right under the cab, so it was really hard to figure out the rpms to have it not backfire.
That's pretty close to what I hauled with my Overlands - so that thing weighs about as much as my cars. Interesting.I’d absolutely pay you for that help. I’m strongly considering towing it myself with a rented aluminum car hauler. I found one I can rent for 100 per day or 550 per week that weighs 1250 and has a gvwr of 9900. Supposedly the 61 JT weighs around 3k to 3,300, per some old specs I found.
Windows open and moving, so no risk of that.Well I'm glad you didn't pass out from the exhaust fumes or get shot from someone mistaking the backfire.![]()
Hilarious actually. 3,000lb curb weight for a 1ton truck with a 6,000lb gvwr. Original Dana 53 rear axle. Kind of sad to consider not using it just because it’d be cool to say I’ve got a Dana 53.That's pretty close to what I hauled with my Overlands - so that thing weighs about as much as my cars. May be able to get parts for that Dana 53 through Crown ??Hilarious actually. 3,000lb curb weight for a 1ton truck with a 6,000lb gvwr. Original Dana 53 rear axle. Kind of sad to consider not using it just because it’d be cool to say I’ve got a Dana 53.
Hey @JCappy I replied to your DM on Monday, if you haven't heard from CS, please let me know, [email protected].Let me know what you think after install. Been also thinking about this but still don't have my issue resolved. Been 2 weeks since last response from Bestop. Also sent a message to @Bestop on here and didn't hear from them either and that's been over a week. Guess once you buy they don't care.
No idea. Not sure I don’t want to just put modern take off 44’s under it.May be able to get parts for that Dana 53 through Crown ??
