At my shop, at times we replace commercial trailer rear bumpers that have bent/been in an accident with....aluminum bumpers. Most of the commercial transports appear to have aluminum rear bumpers. Sometimes just a piece of aluminum C channel is used.

Did anyone not switch out the MP tow hooks for their oem ones? And if so, have you used them for heavy recovery pulls and snatches?

I bought a similar bumper and need a spacer, but that will cut me low on threads with the oem hooks. Someone relatively local is selling the MP hooks and they look forged, unlike the cast one that came with my bumper that I don't want to use. I'm asking the seller if the bolts are removable as it may help with my spacer issue/solution if so. And if these hooks are as good as oem. Unknowable I'm sure, and likely doubtful. I know the bolts aren't, but I'd replace those for longer 10.9/8 bolts anyway.

P.S. I'd be interested in the aluminum front skid if anyone didn't use theirs.
