I have 35 x 12.5s on the factory wheels.....chasing my steering a bit....any thoughts on whether i am using 1.5 wheel spacers is contributing to the flighty steering? Already have the falcon steering stabilizer

Probably just the wider tire.

I had bad experiences with wheel spacers in the past, if they’re hubcentric and tight I don’t see why they’d wobble though.

Have you tried lowering your tire pressure? Sorting that out did more for me than the steering stabilizer when I was having similar issues with it wandering and bump-steering. With both it goes straight just fine now, though I still feel like I have to over-correct to bring the wheels back to straight after turning.

On a 2012 JKU in your profile or a JT? If the 2012 JKU and the hubs were not cleaned perfect and a precise install was done then maybe.

If a 2020 brand new JKU, probably not the spacer causing issue.

You will always get a 50/50 response to spacer questions. Some are for and some are against. Hopefully you used SpiderTrax or a brand name. There is junk outhere, otherwise. Another poster may be right on with it being more an issue with new track width.

SpiderTrax with factory 2005 Ravine wheels helped 32X11.5 run on Old Man Emu 2 inch lift very very well for 65K miles before I sold it. Installs lift at 85 K miles, sold at 150. Damn great ride and steer.[/QUOTE]

It’s one of those things where one camp has people who never had any issues, and the other has people who in spite of their best efforts ended up sitting in a shop waiting to make the three hour drive home after their last 16hr shift of a two week hitch having their wheels pulled off and checked out after something felt wrong only to find a snapped stud and several other loose lugs. After that every weird steering feeling turns into paranoia that something is wrong, and out comes the torque wrench.

I’d still try them again, the popular ones made for Jeeps seem to have a long track record of working. It’s just really unpleasant if they don’t.

I’ve also had a wheel come off on the highway on a van ~50miles after a tire rotation though so maybe I’m just bad at wheels.
