It's possible to run them on a 10" but you'll hafta find a mom & pop place to install it. Most tire stores wont install a tire 4" woder than the wheel.

I build wheels.
It depends on the tire height. A 33x14.50 is totally different than a 47x14.50.

For those running tires 15-15.5" width, what wheel can I use? 10" or 12"? Thanks!
On my Ram 2500 I run 38x15.50r20 Nitto Mud Grapplers. I run a 20x10 wheel with no issues, and have been for 13 years. A 12" wide wheel would be even better, honestly.

When looking up 15" or 15.5" wide tires they show recommended wheel width is 10"-12".

So you can put a 15" to 15.5" tire on a 10" wheel.

But keep in mind, the narrower the wheel makes the sidewalls bow out and makes the tire shorter in height. I can't remember exactly but I believe it is .5" shorter for each 1" narrower.
