I recently bought the weather tech mud flaps. The install isn't going so well for me. So at this point I'm opting to buy generic plastic push pins/ fender flares. Because when you remove these pins they get ruined.. My only issue is that I can't find them. Any ones that's run into this issue please help . Also wondering if I need a tool to install the longer fender push pin that go in on the sides.

Ok thanks. I think I'll take your advice over getting them from Amazon. Are you familiar with the smaller fender clips that are towards the bottom? They are much smaller with a wide flat head. Flimsy as hell. Hard to find JT specific ones.

I bought a kit with the tools and different sizes of pins on Amazon. I had to take a bunch off to do my fog lights and turn signals.

I ran into the same issue. I found the replacements at ACE hardware where I could take my old ones and compare sizes in person.

NAPA carries a good selection of various sized plastic rivets & christmas trees.
I bought the tool for the rivets from Amazon.

It's really goofy the way the plastic inner fender mounts onto the truck. I removed mine recently to work on my on board compressor that I mounted onto the firewall. There are actually three different plastic "pins" (for lack of a better term) used to attach the plastic inner fender. There are two different sizes of the "Christmas Tree" plugs and then there are also plastic pop rivets that you need a rivet gun for.

Are you referring to the POM rivets? If so, they are literally "plastic" rivets. In fact with the MOPAR splash guards, you remove some of the stock POM rivets and use a rivet tool like sold at HF for POM rivets and attach the splash guards using the same holes the trim is held on with and the supplied POM rivets. The MOPAR version of the splash guard comes with the new POM rivets - you just need the tool.
I have a few pics from a couple of years ago in the forum where I installed the splash guards.
IF you can't find the pics in the forum - I have them in the house on another computer I think.
The rivet tool from HF works fine but the rivets are a 3 out of 10 IMO. Luckily the mopar splash guards came with the new POM rivets. Look up "POM rivets" and you'll find tons of examples.

If those are the same as the ones on JKs, they are reusable (even if they really aren't meant to be..). Just press out the center with an awl point screwdriver and then you can reuse them by pressing the center back in.

Just be careful if you buy the christmas trees, even if for another project. There are a handful of different sizes for different applications. If too small, they don't hold... if too big, you break them trying to ram them into the %$#@ hole... ask me how I know.

Got it done. I'm happy with the results they aren't as clean as the mopars.. but they are nice for the price and fit my Willys model. Thanks for everyones input. I went to harbor freight and auto zone and bought the rivet tool and x más trees. Hopefully this makes a difference with all the puddles etc.
