Who has a rebel offroad rack with the side opening hatches?

I’ve got a rebel offroad half rack and ordered one of the opening hatches to try out for the front to see if it works as well as I think it will. Browsing through their site I see that they only recommend like 7 pounds or something for smooth operation of the doors. How much weight have you actually been able to get away with on these? I was planning to mount a harbor freight box with recovery gear in it on this but that’s gonna be way over weight…lol

Well, got the door in and installed. Since no one chimed in I’ll probably add some stuff to it just to see how much it’ll hold. lol

Just figure out the length of the struts and see if you can find stronger ones. That should do the trick if the hinges look pretty hefty.
