Hi all, if I put on a set of Rubicon take off wheels and tires on my Sport S, do I need to take the car back to the dealer to sync the TPMS to my car?

I bought Rubicon take-off wheels and tires - I had a shop install MOPAR sensors I bought and they put the wheels on my truck and it sync'd up as it was backed out of their shop door. Then when I had things switched back to run the stock tires/wheels for the summer, again, they sync'd up within seconds.
They should simply work (in most cases)

Up to 3 sets. 4th will not register. Flashing the system doesnt work. Updating doesnt work. You need, from what I have been told, to disconnect the battery and remove the wheels far enough that they dont register for half an hour, to do a hard reset. I have had 3 sets of oem wheels with sensors on mine, 1 that came with the Jee, 2 takeoffs, the 3rd set of takeoffs didnt register

About everything in your post...

There would be no reason to disconnect either of the 2 batteries in your JT, to get the chassis sensors to read a TPMS on a wheel... any wheel.

Yes, IF you have a spare with a TPMS in it, there would be a valid reason for leaving the spare off the vehicle when trying to get TPMS reading by the 3 chassis sensors and they were having difficulty doing so.

The current thought by most TPMS retailers/vendors, is IF you have one or more sensors not reading on a say a JT or JL/JLU, you deflate all tires to say 5# below the recommended tire pressure, driver's side door sticker that tells you recommended tire psi. Now, after they are deflated you drive say a mile. Now, you inflate to 5# over the recommended psi on the driver's side door sticker and go for a mile drive.. This scenario/routine is suppose to wake up the sensors, so to speak and get them reading... Note: Used to be it you just over inflated and drove but current/new approach is to do as I mentioned.

As mentioned earlier:

About TPMS and your JT:

There are 3 sensors on the chassis that monitor the 4 TPMS Sensors found on the 4 tire (rim) positions.

Info from the 3 chassis sensors is transmitted to the Wireless Control Module. There is no need for a 4th chassis sensor as the computer uses the process of elimination to determine the fourth tire location.

Yes, your JT knows exactly which rim is where, usually within seconds of a tire rotation for example. Yes, It's all done automatically.

There is not a TPMS sensor in the factory mounted spare. IF you place a TPMS sensor in the spare, (it is ok to do) the TPMS - sensor, is not / cannot be read by a chassis sensor/or considered by the computer until it is placed in one of the 4 tire positions.
And that applies to a set of sensors in the memory of the vehicle, if one already registered needs to be "reset". However, I have had 4 sets of TPMS sensors on my rig. The OEM, 2 takeoffs. The last set of takeoffs did not register at all. The Jeep dealership tried updating the system (an update that FCA took 2 weeks to send them) and that didn't work.

The potential solution I described was based on this post in my thread on the subject

Perhaps the TPMS sensor's that you are using, are not good to go for your JT... and that is why you are having issues..

For your 2020 Gladiator, you want 2020 Jeep Gladiator OEM TPMS Sensor Schrader 29093 (supercedes discontinued 29117) 433MHz .

Careful where you buy TPMS's from...

A reliable place to buy is from here. His stock is fresh, no counterfeits, backs his product 100%, gives tech support, and he is great to deal with..... and he is (the owner) a JL owner... https://www.tpmsbargains.com
All the TPMS sensors used on my JT came from stock wheels of other JTs
