It’s bolted so that it can be easily removed. It takes about 2 minutes to get the rack off.Thank you for this. Did you weld the exterior vertical bar to the 90 degree angle steel piece or bolt it on? I see in your pic the 90 degree piece is on but the rack looks to be removed. My plan is to haul two 70 pound kayaks up there but I will only need them every so often when I need the bed as well as the kayaks also easily fit in the bed when the cover is rolled up.
Inside of the uprights are turnbuckles. I don’t have pictures of them currently but I had used them for this rack that was on my JKs.
They are mounted inside the upright here.
