Has anyone used this combo? I currently have my lights mounted using the Quadratec mounts for the plastic front bumper and I am considering adding a winch and wondering if this would work. Quadratec answered a question on their website and stated that they thought it would work but they did not mention if this would only work with specific winches. I can adjust the mounts further away from the center of the bumper from where they are currently set if need be but not sure if it would still work. I don't do any heavy wheeling and don't have the need for a new steel front bumper nor do I want to add that extra weight. Just curious if anyone has tried this. Thinking about a Badlands Apex 12,000. If anyone has any closeup pics at the center of the bumper looking straight on and straight down showing the cutout and how much room the winch takes up behind the bumper, that would be appreciated. That may give me an idea if this would even work or not. I've attached a pic of where my lights are mounted and a pic from the Quadratec website of the mounts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

What is your motivation with this? Weight? If so, you can buy a winch ready aluminum bumper for about what you’re going to have in this after paying for the light and winch mounts. I hated my plastic bumper and a minor parking lot incident proved how little protection it offered. If you like it, that’s great, I just wanted to make sure that you know that there are other options that also keep weight down.

Yes, weight and cost. I'm also not a big fan of some of the huge front bumpers, and like the stock look. I have just started looking at doing this so I will spend more time looking at other bumpers and trying to figure out which direction I'd like to go. Appreciate your input.

Search "winch plastic bumper" or perhaps "winch plastic bumper club" there have been a lot done, I think member "Divided Wood" started it all years ago. I don't know if anyone has done the Badlands Apex, if you don't wheel hard getting the more basic style winch with out decorative fairings they do fit inside bumper, some totally hidden other then hook. The Badlands Apex is the cheapest 12,000 pound winch you can get but is going to stick up out of bumper a lot and remove more of the bumper. Doesn't matter which winch you get your lights and brackets might make clutch handle harder to operate.........Jack

Yea i found a bunch of threads over the weekend about this including yours and I have seen many different winches with the plastic bumper. I realize some require more trimming than others but I have just started the thought process on this. I have seen a few with the Badlands winch. It was very nice of you to donate your parts to another member. Appreciate the input.

No worries and I agree that a lot are ugly and/or ridiculous looking. I did the MP concepts. It looks exactly like the steel Rubicon bumper and bolts up exactly the same. It’s an exact copy except aluminum. It comes with a winch plate, but I didn’t like it and used a different one.

Glad to provide the info. I did a lot of research, and had paralysis by over analysis before I finally pulled the trigger.
