You can also look into adding a spacer plate under the winch. I wasn't happy with the fairlead alignment on my JK, so I ended up adding a 1/8" thick 6061-T6 plate under the winch. If you do add any type of spacer plate, make sure that the mounting hardware length is correct to give you proper thread engagement.
I need to find a spacer to put under mine as well........... similar problem.

I added one on the inside , I had the Warn laying around , and I have a narrow drum winch, but would think a thinner one would be better but it works from full drum to empty drum. There are less choices out there for narrow drums but picking up something regular size should be easy….Jack
