Winding noise when shifting from 4H to 2H

This morning I experienced a winding noise after shifting from 4H to 2H. I was traveling approximately 15 mph when downshifting, and noticed when 2H was engaged it made a winding noise. I hadn't accelerated when shifting nor when it was making that winding noise. Eventually it stopped and I was good to go. Also, shifted back into 4h and 2h a couple times to see if it would make the noise again, however it did not.

Anyone else experience anything like this? I don't know much about the inner workings of the 4x4 system and how it engages, but could be it didn't probably engage (winding noise) then did?
