Windshield Chip

Well I got a chip on my Wrangler (sorry, no pics) about the size of, maybe a bit smaller than a dime. It was between the wipers, out of the blade path so that was good.

I used the Permatex chip repair, and if I did not see it myself I would not believe it! You cannot see the damage after the repair. It took about 5 minutes of actual time. Total time was about 1.5 hours including the waiting periods. This stuff is amazing.

I've seen so many threads on Reddit as well saying jeeps are prone to rocks, etc due to the flat design and I'm crossing my fingers. I've already been t-boned in my brand new truck this week so don't need to deal with a chipped windshield later..lol. I've owned trucks for over 10 years and never ran into a cracked windshield issue (was never t-boned either) so hopefully I don't jinx my Glady!!

I wonder if tint shops offer any kinda layer on the outer windshield ......

I've replaced 3 windshields and will be replacing another by the end of this month before I head to Coal Mountain for some fun. (Huge crack going horizontally from the passenger side.) If you own a Wrangler or Gladiator, get used to it! The angle of the windshield is steeper than other vehicles, so road rocks are like darts being thrown at a target.

Short answer YES

there are many threads on this, I also believe several company making protective film are ssponsors on the forum. This is just one of them.

I think it will. Let me collect myself and I will post up about how I would go about doing it.
