2024 Gladiator Mojave X….

This happened about 3x in the last couple weeks.

I use Carplay all the time. Jump in, start the truck, Carplay opens up, loads and usually continues where I left off (playing spotify as normal).

Those 3x ….. I jump in, start the truck…. and the music hiccups & is jittery. It sounds so bad, you can’t even tell what the songs are. I‘m usually on the road driving by the time it starts. So,….I Pull over…. Reboot phone, shut off truck. Try again…nope…Even the screen is jittery (like its slow to load). At this point….I’m going old school and selecting an FM station.
The next day? Everything was fine.

Yesterday….same thing. My husband was with me, so we switched over to HIS phone and it did the same thing.
It’s not our phones.

Seems like things clear up after its sitting for a while and/or you get in it the next day.

Is there something that can be done to reset while you’re on the road/pulled over? A Carplay reset? Or some setting to force a reboot (of sorts).?

Or is this something that’ll end up being a warranty fix eventually??
Thanks!

Hold the 'Volume' and 'Tune' buttons for approx 15 seconds or until the uConnect shuts off to perform a soft reset. This should alleviate your issues. I had an audio glitch that cut the radio volume in half and the issue stuck around after the car was off/on multiple times. It was only after that reset did things finally get settled

I had issues with wireless android auto. If I plugged my phone in so it would charge I would get connection issues. I think it the uconnect didn't know how to handle a wired connection and wireless at the same time. I turned off wireless connection in my phone settings and no more problems.

Got exactly same problem. Randomly music skips for like a second. Tried restarting Uconnect as per instructions above, tried unpairing the phone and connect is back, tried factory reset of uconnect. For now exactly same. I usually get a first stutter/skip within 30 second of starting music.

Totally different situation…. But I get the same thing… I’ll be driving along and get a quick ‘second’ (or less) that it drops out. It always comes back and everything sounds fine. I haven’t been able to notice if it happens at the same places everytime. My husband had a previous car that would drop out at the same place everytime he entered our neighborhood. It was so weird….. I don’t think his current car does it.

The situation I’m talking about… the music will play…but it sounds like such shit because its skipping and hiccuping.

We play Spotify all the time, and at home on speakers in the house. We use the same Spotify account but there’s a difference between HIS phone and my phone.
He can setup his likes & playlists on his phone, and I can setup different likes/playlists on my phone.

If he starts playing music (in the house) and he leaves with his car….. It’ll play in his car and shut off in the house. I totally get that…..

I‘m wondering ( and will have to run some TESTS)…. If I start music in the house and get in the jeep to drive somewhere, if Uconnect has a hard time with the transfer from the house to the jeep…. ??

Does it play fine if you use a wired connection?

It shouldn't since you are using your phone as the source.
It is connected to the phone….. The Spotify App uses the phone thru Wifi while playing in the house.

When you jump into the truck - there’s the *transition* between it playing in the house (wifi), to playing in the JT (Wireless).

My husband generally starts the music in the house most times…… so when I jump into the truck (using my phone), there’s no transition. But if I start the music in the house and jump into the truck….that’s what I want to test.

The only time I’ve plugged in the phone was during long trips (twice)… and didn’t notice any issues.

I do notice if my wife gets in my JT and I haven't connected my phone, her phone will wireless connect. It doesn't sound bad, but I do notice the sound will skip randomly.
