And yeah I also have the brightness indicator on the bottom task bar, but I've also seen others be able to also zoom, pan, and adjust brightness right from the camera screen too. Not a major concern if that's normal. I've just seen videos where others can. Unless there were recent changes to this or I need a firmware update.
You can adjust the angle and change the views, but you can't adjust the brightness by sliding the screen.
Still doesn't explain the random shutting off. I've had this installed for about two full days now and haven't even driven much and it's done it about 3x now (when driving) not after sitting and automatically powering off
Regarding this issue, I assume it can be the defective hardwire. I need to check with our engineer first. But rest assured, if the unit or any part of it is defective, your warranty covers it and we'll send you a new one. Thanks for your support!

@WOLFBOX

So I'm going to be completely transparent here.

I just finally got my Wolf box G900 tri pro bumper version installed a couple days ago after taking advantage of the Black Friday sale. Was super excited to get it installed although I hate doing wiring. Nonetheless got everything hooked up and versus using the direct connection to the fuse box, I have the auxiliary switches in my gladiator and thanks to the help and direction of @WILDHOBO was able to direct connect to the cabins secondary connections under the glove box that are present for those who have the auxiliary group. Goes for a lot cleaner, looking connection in my opinion, and less to run outside of the Jeep.

Overall, I like it's functions and abilities. Hence the whole reason I made the purchase in the first place.. however I'm having a handful of random issues and don't even know where to begin.

First of all, the system randomly just shuts down in the middle of driving, which I find odd. And usually doesn't come right back on immediately without unplugging the power and plugging it back in.

Secondly, at one point, the screen, even after rebooting would get stuck on my rear camera specifically under the grid lines screen as if I was adjusting the lines L M or H etc. (which I don't even have set for the rear mind you) but on top of that doesn't even give me the back arrow at the bottom left to go back to the original screens or even the Settings menu. Was literally stuck on that screen. The only thing that got rid of it is power cycling. I've done a factory reset and it seemed to get rid of that problem. (Atleast for now).

Lastly, and I'm not sure if this is due to an update or something on my end, but on all cameras I cannot slide the brightness up and down from the camera screen as I've seen others do before on the right side of the screen. Also I'm not sure which cameras have the function but I can only zoom in on the rear.

I'm not sure if I need a firmware update or what but even that seems complicated and I can't find much information. I just want it to work properly. First photo is the screen it was stuck on. Again this has seemed to be fixed for now. But with the random shutting off, not sure if it will happen again.

I have the same issue with the rear reverse switching, which is unusual cuz I did not connect the trigger wire. Also... it usually happens after a wash or a heavy rain.

Has anyone come up with a good location to mount the rear camera if you do not have a rack or topper to mount it to, so as to keep it higher?
I saw one that cut a hole in the tailgate handle's cover. Not a bad idea but want to keep it as clean as possible.
Bumper mount is ok, but will that be high enough to get a good view?
Not necessarily an answer to your question... but after having a few of these in different vehicles (currently have the G900 Pro in the Gladiator), I am not sure that treating them as a 1-to-1 rearview mirror replacement is even the best way to think about them. I initially had the same concerns you do, but now have them mounted as high as the top of the SmartCap and as low as the top of the license plate. My brain can make both locations work IF I just treat them like the always-on, mirrored-image, rear-facing cameras they are.

All that is to say, you may not care all that much about the specific mounting location, depending on how you use them.

funny you mention that cause my situation happened to me after a cash wash.

however the other issue of randomly shutting off has happened regardless and even before that.

Curious... sounds like a weather proofing issue.

thinking maybe so. Although I have electrical tape over the connections I may try to heat shrink over it or something.

I have the Tri-Pro. My rear camera is on the rear lid of my OVS bed cap. I LOVE IT!! I can see everything behind me now. I did try the license plate mounting option but the plate lights blasted everything out at night so moved it up top. No it’s not the same as a rear view mirror and takes some getting used to but I think it’s great to see out the back. I electrically taped my connections for weather proofing and added some silicone bead at the point where the wire enters the camera itself. Probably didn’t need it but figured better safe than sorry.

That's correct. Mount it high. Seal the connection.👍

Pics of the OVS lid mounting position please?

Cut a hole in the handle and stick it in there

That would look better if it was just a round hole for the lens and did not have to allow for the camera housing.

just an update for anyone following my concerns. I redid all connections for the rear camera and the power. Considering I connected to the secondary aux wires for my power I obviously had to splice the connections together. Well I redid all four of those with different and better spade connections; taped and heat shrink over it and so far everything has been working flawlessly.
