Someone had a whole kit with switches and the connector hose all flush mounted. It wasn't the 4xe exactly but same idea.

This was from one of the Jeep concepts, maybe Wayout or Farout

Maybe use a stereo filler panel that shops used to use for aftermarket installs and customize for what you want in that space, just need to figure out the offset depth of the panel and how it connects to the cowl, then you can have something similar to Wayout concept above, just behind the closed door.....getting rid of the "e" on the door might be a little more in depth.

Its interesting how different life is when you don't live in the Northeast, where everything that isn't sealed gets filled with sand in the winter and everything that isnt' stainless or plastic corrodes.

I had this exact same idea, may I ask how much the cowl and door were? 4XE is not avail in Canada yet, according to my local dealer. going to be getting two as likely the wife will want the same once I do it to mine, lol
$160 for the parts - that little door was the expensive part

Right, I'm in MA so I'm picky with cars and salt. The BMW is my winter/travel car so if there's heavy salt on the road, that's the car I'm taking. The Gladiator I'll take out after a good rain during the winter so I'm not sucking up all that salt. Camaro doesn't see rain or winter haha.

Man, that is so awesome. Now you've got me thinking of what else I can do with that. My winch has a wireless remote, but that would make a cool cover for an auxiliary plug to run from the winch to the cowl. Just reach out your window to plug in a wired remote.

Very nice! I may need to do this. I'll screw it up (twice) like everything else but it'll be worth it.
