Thinking F150, find a used one. https://ideal.media/these-trucks-have-the-worst-resale-value-after-5-years/

Wife wanted a full size truck, I did a lot of research and went we went with a Tundra. Yes the V6 Turbo in the F150 has better MPG but not when towing. Turbo's are full spool the whole time.

As for the Gladiator, I have had 4 Tacoma's M/T, the Gladiator is by far way better on road and off-road. Bonus, roof and doors come off. I will say it does wander some but like the M/T just need to pay attention.

A good reason why everyone should have to drive a M/T, pretty freaking hard to text when shifting.

We have an FJ Cruise so are used to noise growl etc, plus I had a jeep through the 90s and drove it cross country. My wife actually did not want a Taco or other mid size regular truck. She like unique and a vehicle you can do stuff with. We are going to tow a 4 season smaller trailer so we opted for the 22 Sport S with Max Tow and practically every package. The intent is to tow and have a truck bed to throw stuff in. Boondock, detach and be able to drive off the beaten path.

I test drove the Glad for a good hour and fell in love with the jeep feel again.

If your main goal is family trips go for the standard truck. The Glad is basically a wrangler with a big butt!!! Thus why we flocked to it! It tows! It has a bed! The roof comes off and the doors come off! It is a jeep with added fun!

Is it the comfy cabin cruiser for a family cross country who does not like the Wrangler? IMHO…nope.

Won’t tell much difference between a Gladiator and a Wrangler? Wrong.
My ‘21 Mojave is notably better in ride, handling than my ‘19 Rubicon. Stay away from the Ford. I traded a ’19 F350 and it had 17 active recalls when I did. It was hot garbage and the dealership and service experience was horrific. I’ll never buy another Ford.
I absolutely love this Mojave, and the ‘20 Mojave that our business owns. Both have been exemplary. You won’t be disappointed with a Mojave.

I just did the opposite trades a nice cushy 2016 Navigator on the gladiator. Honestly the kids kick the seats less in a gladiator than a 8 passenger full-size suv.

Hahaha, we had originally ordered a Ford near the end of last year and after watching all the recalls, the complaints of quality, the turbo lags and fails on their newer vehicles and the pending class action on three of their ecoboosts we cancelled the order and moved on. I had many friends order new 21/22 Fords and they had leak issues, paint issues, turbo issues, mystery coolant leaks, glass exploding, etc. Ford is in a make as many as possible and not quality checking.

I am trading in my (sniff) 2017 BMW M series sports car. The wife just cant let go of her 2011 FJ Cruiser and I dont blame her. The FJ only has 95K on it so it has a lot of life left. Then our garage will be the Jeep and the FJ…

Lot of different opinions here, but if you traded in your Wrangler because of the uncomfortable highway ride, as many have said, the Gladiator will not be much better.

And while I'm not a huge fan of turbo'ed engines (from any manufacturer), I am a fan of American trucks and SUVs, so take your time and find the right fit for you and your family.

I’ve had two FJs and still have my first one. They are GREAT little trucks in my experience. Had 230,000 miles between the two. Had a 2007 and 2010. Sold the 2010 last year for nearly as much as I paid for it new. Helped finance my dream car, the Hellcat. The 2007 Voodoo Blue FJ ain’t going anywhere though. That one stays in the family.
