I apologize if this is not the appropriate place to post this, but seems the most appropriate place.

I currently have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator but it's missing a lot of things that I wanted, one of the most profound being the tow package. I did not expect the "It's out of stock forever" thing to apply to literally ALL Mopar parts. I was originally however going to trade it in for Diesel which was the main motivation, but then I discovered I can get more range by adding a LRA aux tank than I can from the Diesel tank that can't get an aux tank coz of the DEF.

I basically am one person who has a dog and owns a Jeep to go overlanding and camping.

I know most of you guys will say the Gladiator is better.. but can you guys give me reasons why the Gladiator is a better choice? (or if you decide the Wrangler is a better choice).

Reason I am undecided is because the Wrangler has better maneuverability, is better off road, and I am only one person so while I have no experience I think that perhaps the Wrangler might have enough storage for me and I can sleep in the Wrangler without too many upgrades so I can go overlanding out of the box, and I have a ground tent. With the Gladiator I have to get like a camper or RTT or something. I was thinking about an Alu-Cab camper but then I have to relocate the backup camera and get another rear-view solution which I am not thrilled about (I need to be able to see behind the vehicle)..

There's also the Ursa Minor for the Wrangler.

I'm also worried that Jeep is going to ruin the Wrangler in the 2024 refresh. I am getting this from the new 20th anniversary editions that are coming out with that horrible grille that resembles the Wronco thing they put images out of earlier this year that has that grille.

You have some good points while deciding on which would work for you JL or JT. I have the JT Mojave and love it, I have told many that this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I did have an "in bed" tent from Napier and the added air bedz for a few trips. It was not practicle for us, to cumbersome. We went with a overland trailer. Much better for our needs. I am to old to be climbing in and out of the RTT. I have some creature comfort mods but no mechanical mods at all and it works great.
My traveling partner has the JL Rubicon Extreme Recon 392, they also pull a trailer. Both have there advantages and disadvantages. Drivability overlanding being the most. I am more comfortable after a longer trail ride, "softer ride". They have a better ride and capability over larger obstacles and better clearance from the get go. And of course my JT gets better MPG, not saying much but I didn't get it for fuel economy.
You wouldn't go wrong with ethier in my opinion, just what suits your need best.
Good luck!

Go with what makes your heart happy. Life is short and money is just a number… kind of….

Anyways, ask yourself the following:

Need a truck sometimes but like doing Jeep things? JT

Never need a truck and like to do Jeep things? JL or JLU

Also don’t shy away from looking outside of the Jeep brand. Although few things compare to a solid axle front and rear axle, there might be a other vehicle that fits your needs.

I can count the times I've needed a truck since I've owned the Gladiator on 0 hands.
