Do these work with heavy builds, my gladiator is right at 7000lbs, overland build and want to upgrade breaks. I have seen reviews of 1500 trucks with campers in tow and seems these would give me that extra comfort. lol I don’t been out to Hot springs crawling and southern M Missouri ranch crawling as well as west virgin blue ridge mountain trails no issues with stock. Just want that warm and fuzzy, because idk what a 29 degree decline would be like.

I have them, and don’t have any complaints. But they are not a big brake kit. They’re better for towing and mountain driving, and general driving of a heavier build. But the offroad performance gain is minimal. For the price, you won’t be disappointed. But they’re not a $2,400 brake upgrade.

I just bought a Z36 set to go on my Overland. I expect it to be a bit better than stock. I looked at the big brake upgrades, but I don't do anything that requires that kind of expense.

If you want to do it once and forget it do the Terafex Delta brakes
As far as powerstop Z36 pads they will improve you braking on a stock jeep
As far powerstop caliper. They are factory calipers painted red. They will not improve your braking
Any mods like bigger tires , extra weight or towing you will want to go to a bigger brake system
On my heavily modified Willys with 37s I have the Terafex Delta brakes
On my wife's stock Rubicon I run the powerstop Z36
If you over heat and lose your brakes going down a long hill and hit some one with your over weight or modified jeep you could be held personalty liable

Come on. The stock brakes are sufficient, on a rubicon, to tow up to 7,000lbs. So a heavy modified gladiator that weighs 1,000 or 1,500lbs more than stock, will stop perfectly fine with z36 rotors and pads. I’m not knocking big brake kits, but to say what you did is WAY overboard.

What I said I 100% true
Try traveling down a long steep grade on 100 degree day come around a corner and see traffic is stopped you hit the brakes hard and it wont stop. You will get the picture

Anyone that gets themselves in that situation shouldn’t be driving heavy vehicles, or towing. I’m quite familiar with driving on steep grades. I live in the mountains. I don’t care what kind of brakes you have. If you use brakes exclusively to stop on steep descents, you’ll fail. Use your gearing and some common sense to stay at a safe speed for your weight.
