We hustled out of town after work on a Thursday before anyone could show up needing anything and got up the road about 3 hrs instead of leaving Friday morning. We used IOverlander as much as possible on this trip. We camped at Winding Stairs near Heavner OK first night.

Friday after coffee we headed North stopping by Cass, AR and rode some trails and got the Byrd’s Heritage badge. This place is special to me because it was the first place I took my ‘83 CJ rock crawling. I still have the T-shirt.

Continued North taking our time and stopping along the way. Made it to a state park in Iowa and got a great spot for $25. The cooler weather was a blessing.

Moving on we went to MN and had lunch with a doctor who did his fellowship at my wife’s last job. He was happy to see us. He was in Minneapolis during the riots. It was wild listening to his stories about all the “Lunatics”.

Tigerton is better suited for 4-wheelers and SxS’s in my opinion but the woods and camp sites are beautiful. A bargain too..
