Let Us Hear That You Want Core Doors!

I’m not accusing you of defending Bestop. I’m just saying that if Bestop is claiming a “Very high standard” was used to make their soft doors, their use of that same standard in the design and fabrication of Core doors would be enlightening to we few in this tiny little market.

I’d consider buying a product from Bestop, however, I’d wait a few months after the product’s release to see if there’s a common problem…..such as fitment. My experience with the soft doors warrants it.

To be fair....just about all the "tube doors" I have ever tried were pretty much crap...didnt fit...didnt latch...rattled ...required me to perform variety of "modding" to get to remotely fit correctly....and were not cheap by any means. I am just done with them.

Jeep posted a patent for doors that look almost identical to the core doors earlier this year (last year?) Either they told Bestop to not make them at risk of losing other very lucrative contracts or they are actually hiring best top to make the doors for them eventually. The existence of that patent however means the core doors will not be made without official Jeep involvement.
Good luck on getting bestop to admit to either scenario

I dont think of it as conspiracy, just regular business. Jeep does offer your products as essentially an OEM option (sunrider, which I have.).

I'd be interested to see said patent, and what it actually specifies, it would be hard to patent something "like" the core door with all the pre-existing designs like the JK Core Door or the Bronco Donut Door...

not sure where to find it...It was in my "for you" feed of google new a while back. It did have pictures and a bunch of technical details. they may have been the ones jeep actuallydisplayed a few years back on a red jeep

Interesting design... I can't get to AutoBlog from work, So it'll have to wait until tonight for me ot get a closer look, But the design actually looks to be about half way between the JK Core Door and the Bronco Donut Door;

The key is going to be the text of the patent, and what it actually describes, It's got to have something unique in that text...

They honestly look like normal Mopar JL Half doors with a hole in them that's too low to be useful as a way too look at anything, because it gives up so much space to the factory door handle and huge bezel...
