Trying to hold out to see if Black Friday will save me a few bucks, but I'm definitely in for a set of the Max series. I like the idea of the off-road mode, thinking it would provide drivable light (slowly, of course) without blinding nearby campers or neighbors.

Nothing odd about it. "Made using global parts and assembled in America" is the new "Made in America" unfortunately.

Ya, sad that's a thing.... worse that anyone would consider it made here if it's simply assembled from plug in components

A world market now, it is a good thing now, unlike cheap Chinese knockoffs of old. Do you know Chrysler sells the 3.6 block to Ferrari for the Maserati? One example of many.
Wold market parts, most times tex
Ates and proven!

Then this is absolutly not an accurate statement based on that... unles we are also redefining the term "imported"

I suppose the product could just identify as being not imported, alot of redefining and reidentifying going on now....

Your point?
my point is; you can wish for all American Made Products… I want them myself, but especially with vehicle manufacturers they will use the same parts accross many lines of manufacturing. Another example is the ZF 8 speed auto, I believe BMW and Bentley use it as well. That makes the transmission better IMOP as it is thoroughly tested in many different applications. Many engineers accross the globe approve of its use (face it, German Engineering is superior in most cases Vs USA). Plus that same transmission if you’d like to think of it as American is out behind the Demond Challenger.
Point is straight up American large auto manufacturing will be and is global parts assembled here or elsewhere, as the norm. The exception in most cases then is small manufacturers of for example some Jeep parts. These will be all American made… until the demand increases beyond small business capabilities. For example my RTT diesel heater is on order, says in stock on website, after ordering it then said for me to allow for 4 month lead time and receipt of product. It’s American assembled by a small business. A large global company could turn my order around in a week.
IMOP it’s worth the wait as it is exactly what I want. Would I like it sooner? YES!

Side note and my point; crypto currency is coming once trust is placed in the form people jump on board with. That will be a global cash currency and once adopted you won’t see American President Bills for cash again, IMOP. You won’t see cash, your phone will be the cash payment option using your banked crypto.
The world is a smaller place and personally I like it for many reasons.
One major reason is that it involves many countries and manufacturing of goods and services on a global scale which IMOP stabilizes not only the market but the trust between countries and quite possibly a unity of many or all countries never achieved historically (I am dreaming of the best outcome here).
I love my JT, first Jeep I haven’t traded in or sold after 3 years. I have 90,000 miles on my October 2019 JT purchase and love it! So does my wife and that is huge!
I hope this makes sense and your day is incredible.
Keep on Jeepin’!! Globally that is!
Oh and Chrysler is owned by Fiat as you know. That’s not an American company. They also own Ferrari… IMOP that is very cool.

Had no issue with the majority of it, you just swung in with a standalone comment on crypto and I needed it put in context.... you took the long way around to do so....
My point was using parts made outside the US but saying "not imported" not exactly the truth is it... we all get its a global thing, but say that, don't imply otherwise with word salad.....

German engineering is good, not the best, Japanese quality is better.. BMW's or MB value drops like a stone, our 70 2012 335 is worth 10% of that now... they arnt long term vehicles.....

As for crypto, I have some, been in computers since the early 90's, it's always one hack, one fuckup away from meltdown....its ok to deny it, and when countries have no control over currency, they will cease to be countries, might sound good in John Lennon song but in reality it's not good ....

You do you
