Ever get to a trail and wish that you could dump a bunch of stuff before hitting the trail? I always wished that off-road parks had locking storage that I could rent for the day. That way I could throw my doors or camping gear or whatever in and not have to worry about it.
Then I saw these collapsible storage units-

Not ideal but could work? Yes, it will only keep the honest people out; but us off-roaders are all honest right?

As someone who had half of their camping gear stolen in Moab during EJS I'd say that's not enough, but I may be jaded now.
That sucks!

That’s awful. Where were you camped?

We foolishly hid some totes under another Jeepers toy hauler (with their permission) before hitting the trailhead. When we got back the totes were gone, they left the firewood though....

It my have been some locals or drifters taking advantage of some midwest tourist because I really hope the offroad community that I know would leave our stuff alone considering it was hidden under a trailer. It was disheartening, and it was my birthday lol.

I used to leave some general stuff set up at the campground but now it all gets put in a locked/chained bin or travel trailer.

That’s rough. We camp there several times per year, and haven’t had an issue yet. We leave plenty of small things, which add up quickly, out in bins. Admittedly, the expensive stuff is chained up with high strength stainless chain and really big locks. But that still only helps as a deterrent. If someone really wants something, they’re going to get it. I’d be jaded too. Now I’m worried about camping for EJS. Yuck.

It was most of our kitchen and accessory stuff (stove, plates, cups, heater, hammocks, et cetera) which does add up. Plus we had two days left to camp there and we now left with using a grill grate and some gas station plastic utensils. Lesson learned. I still think the likelihood of that happening is slim but I err on the side of caution now. I'd say your setup is pretty safe but taking the extra time to pack up the small stuff is worthwhile.

Silver lining of the experience is it convinced my wife and I into buying this trailer set up at the expo show in Moab. Now when we go someplace all of our gear gets padlocked in the trailer and then the trailer itself gets locked. Plus it's nice to have a base camp instead of lugging everything with us when we decide to leave camp.

What’s on the passenger side of the trailer under the tent?

It’s interesting to see y’all leave your trailers. We have thought about this but the idea of a $30k+ trailer being taken is ?- we understand that’s what insurance is for…. But having seen too many enclosed trailers disappear from job sites- these off road trailers would be too easy.
