I currently have a Sport S has upgraded rubicon fox shocks, side steps, oracle oculus head lights... has a leveling kit on 37’s with gear wheels. Has cold weather package and max tow package...

I’ve been messing with the builder on the website...

I’m looking at building an Eco diesel. I plan on moving my wheels, tires, fox shocks and side steps over to the Eco (and maybe oculus headlights)

I know I can’t get a max tow with Eco diesel but would I really know the difference? Do you get heavy duty dana 44 with it?

if I build a Sport S and and Overland identically the same what do I get with the Overland over the Sport S other than color matched top and 18” wheels if built the exact same?

Help me build this thing...:captain:

You may consider the Willy's, Willy's Sport, Rubicon, or Freedom that is now available to build. If you want leather bolster seats with a rear armrest the Freedom (check out a Freedom Wrangler) will do that. It has nice rims/tires (little small but can get AT tread unlike Willy's), steel front and rear bumpers, color matched fenders, and LEDs. It is going to give you more off-road type stuff than the Sport S. If you just want to flip your stuff over and you don't care about leather, LEDs, or steel bumpers, go with the Sport S. Although a base Rubicon with diesel, hard top, aux switches, and tow can be had for under 50k, which is probably the best value next to a Sport with diesel, hardtop, aux swithces, and tow package. I recommend going to the Costco website to get the invoice pricing and list of the options. It also explains the options.

If you have a jeep, save your hard earned money. Use it to take a trip, or do something fun / new.

A jeep is an enabler. Use it. Abuse it if needed but get out there, go see something incredible. Be happy with the sport! Who cares!

Also yes to answer your question if you actually do decide to drop 20k extra on a vehicle that will allow you to do the same things that you have now.

The Ecodiesels come with dana 44 wide with 3.73 gears. Transmission is beefy (same one in the 392).

I will say the Ecodiesel is more powerful, more fuel efficent, but it's not a gas engine, you will notice how much different it drives, turbo lag, extra heat (especially if towing) and most importantly the weight up front.

Mine still bottoms out hitting big speed bumps (even after a mopar 2" lift and 1/2" teraflex spacer....) in the front.

Save your money. Seriously do something with it that builds a memory.

All Diesels get the "wide" m220 Axles. The biggest question is, are you willing to run a risk of an imploding Fuel Pump, higher diesel costs, and the risk that FCA may no longer support diesels in the near future? If yes to all of those, go for it! The torque makes up for the lack and the max tow package with the 3.73 gearing

This thread is old to me but good for others… I didn’t pay 20k more for mine. It didn’t cost me much at all to upgrade but I ordered mine before everything started getting crazy. The diesel is where it’s at in these imo. I have had both.
